can some one tell me around how much it'll cost to get a R32 gts-t in from japan, if the car is going to cost around $2300.

BTW, No I'm not planing on buying this car, nor I'm I looking at buying any car right now, I'm just doing a little research on cars for sale in japan, and yes this car I'm talking about seems to be in good nic but it is an auto so I guess this is why it's cheap.

I am going through the process of importing one now.

car cost

+ 15% import tax (or some crap),

+ 10% GST on all that.

+ 2000 or so delivery.

+ 2800 compliance (r32 in perth)

my 8500$ car has made its way to 17k now, but then theres

+ on road costs

+ tyres

ohh the joys, just gotta wait for the sucker to leave the damn docks over there.. 3 weeks so far.. ARGH!

Shaun

err no Import duty is on the FOB ( free on board ) cost only, which is auction price plus agent cost and internal freight ( usually 90,000 yen )

ie car cost is $2300 plus agent fee etc $1343 = $3643 x 15% =$547

    • Budget for sensors and wiring as well. Depending on how safe you want to be with the engine, you could be flirting with $2K AUD in sensors and wiring.

Start looking for gearbox conversions if your hard on the gear. Now I've been there and done that with rb powered street car (2007-2022) much prefer newer stuff. Anything 90's Japanese is not a great experience these days and highly over rated. My 2015 Brz with a heap of suspension mods is such a better car even with out the power of my old s chassis' even on track. • I mean, the 240i is not a Supra... make it drop a few hundred kg, have a sportscar chassis, clearance for wheels etc... Maybe I want a hardtop Z40i XDrive or something :p I do agree with you though and have long said the B58 Supra/240i/340i/440i is the new R Chassis/JDM90's turbo rocket for mod lovers to ... not always appreciative response lol. Doesn't make it not true though.
