I was thinking along the lines of an A/C rad to cool the water , a Davis Craig booster to pump the water and an ARE ? heat exchanger . There does not seem to be many water set ups so I was wondering what you all think , water is rather heavy so is this likely to be a problem . Actually were the XR6T's intercooling problems solved this way ? Cheers A . R33_Convert Posted January 21, 2005 Share Posted January 21, 2005 Have you tried looking at PWR's Water/Air Barrell Cooler? Good value for money, no long pipe work for throttle lag, compared to FMI. Also effecient cooling even at low road speeds...... and best of all, nothing out the front to get damaged. tang0 Posted January 21, 2005 Share Posted January 21, 2005 the St165 celica GT4 has a water cooled intercooler, not sure about the st185's but the st165 has a smallish rad near the front of the car, then an electric pump moves the water around the system cooling the intercooler that is sat on teh top of the engine ... in theory this is all very well, but its a really small ic. and dont think it would take much boost to make the whole setup overheat ... or at least become inefficient ... the biggest prob you'll have is finding a decent sized fmic with a water jacket, or modding an existing fmic to have a water jacket - v expensive i'd have thought ... just my 2c Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/61997-waterair-intercooling/#findComment-1171749 Share on other sites More sharing options...
