yeah i know where it runs RV i think they probably wanted to do what you said, ok so i'll tell them to simply replace the ruptured section for me and if they say no then.... well.... i'll deal with no power steering cos i ain't paying that much!

nebuchmeizzer: i've read the entire ECU can just go "kerplunk" if they haven't been looked after too well and high mileage, n i doubt you'd really be too inclined to find yourself stranded on the side of the road somewhere with a car that's gonna cost thousands to fix, also, as far as "cosmetic" electrics go you have proto-type 80's technology and you KNOW nothing good EVER came out of the 80's technology wise...

IE: hicas, automatic lights that turn on for you, power windows, central locking, etc etc etc... not trying to scare you or anything but it's best to look at things realistically other than optimistically =)

only problem i've had with my one is the power steering hose, other than that GREAT car, ABLSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, if you have the money though (making the assumtion you're a mechanic) i would buy a virgin stock one and build it up from there that way you don't have to maintain + mod, knaww meeen?

Ya mechanical and electronic stuff i can fix, electronics is a bitch but i can fix it eventually haha. Modding is all good to, the car in my sig down there was 90% built by me and 10% by my dad.

I might be holding off on the ceffie for a bit now, the old gazelle had a good showing at State Drift last weekend so i might do a little more playing with the rear suspension and see what it can do before i upgrade, that is unless someone comes along and offers good cash for the old girl but that's unlikely.

The gazelle stands out alot at meets which is good :P

Is the power steering interchangeable with other Nissans?

R32? S13?

I mean the whole lot - pump, column, everything..

i would say similiar if not the same to an s13 ......? im not fully sure though

but i recently did the steering wheel and the boss kit for the r32 did not hook up proprly ...but the jap s13 one did ...

replaced my old man's ceffy's steering wheel with an R32 steering wheel. works fine. good thing we don't have HICAS in the ceffy, which is what you'd want in a drift car anywyas...

The only problems I've had with mine was a crack in the fan (so the fan got replaced) and holes in the exhaust (so the exhaust got replaced). There was a minor oil leak somewhere due to bad washers, which were replaced and all is good now.

is this cefiro boss kit?

matches up with S13?

the r32 one fits the spline but it had nothing to turn off the indicators or activate the horn ....the kit for the australian nissan didint fit cause the spline is too large .

i finally got one which was made in italy for it, i think for the s13 but i could be wrong ....but it fit and everything hooks up fine indicators turn off and horn works i had to add a little bit of wire for the horn but ohwell it works

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
