*scratches head*  sorry but did u mean to post something or somewhere else?

Boostzor

Sorry dude, just thought that whoever the guy was that owned the car you put the link up to was either an example of a drug child (no offence if any are reading this), chronic inbreeding (once again - not something someone does by choice), or an argument for compulsory sterilisation - personally I favour the acid theory.

Please don't stop this thread - I really enjoy reading it, and keep up the ricey photos - perhaps we should get a copy of the Ronald Macdonald Toyota in here too?

Here is a thought, start a sticky thread with an invitation to post any example of rice - should be a good way to releive some stress when things get too much, just log on and unwind.

What ya reckon?

Patronising aside, I too think that people should do whatever they want to their car. Just, they better be able to handle constructive criticisms from other (offended) owners.

Ok heres a reason why rice is popular:

Driving down Stirling in Gradenkos old Lancer which BTW had one kikass stereo in it.

He has 2 alpine amps in the boot so therefore he has to have the 'V12' sticker on the back window.

These ppl pull up next to him and the guy looks across and says. "is that a v12 engine" "i thought it would be too small for that"?

Needless to say we didnt stop laughing for around 30mins and he did seem a little insulted as he drove off.

My point is that these are the kind off ppl ricers are trying to impress. COMPLETE MORONS:bahaha:

Ahh yeh i am. The only exception is the M's, now that is a car:drooling:

U gotta admit for that price range u can do alot better but ppl buy em cause they have a reputation of class. Which is fair enuff if ure 50 and use it as an a-b but if ure 20 and drive a 318i ure just a plain old fashioned poser.

i think ur generalising a bit here. Yes the M's are magnificent cars, 250kw's (or there abouts) out of a 3.2 Straight Six. Very impressive. 294kw's out of a 4.9 V8, very impressive. Where holden manages a meager 225kw out of a 5.7 V8...hmmm, something wrong here.

anyways. I agree with ur 318i, for what u spend on that, you could get a very nice Skyline. But that's where it stops. A 330ci, or 330i, 530i, any of the 7 series, are awesome cars. The handle beautifully, go really well (the 330ci is a quick car) and have awesome brakes. BMW's are known for their handling. But they are not all meant to be sports cars! That's the M's job. Cannot say that ur a poser if u have a BMW (exception of 20 in 318i) They are beautiful cars, and definitely see myself in one when i just wanna cruise.

Respect. BMWs are beautiful cars.In fact, I would say that they are so refined, & so good to drive, that they are one of the best cars around. After driving my R34 around for a couple of hours I cant wait to park it & get out. Then again, I do like looking at it from the outside. With the E46 M3, you just want to keep on driving.Handling - awesome, Power delivery - very nice, street cred - well the E36 was PCOTY in '96, & the E46 is sooo much ricer

(excuse me - nicer) in fact I liked it so much I've got one being built in Feb 03. Probably won't fit stickers or neons though.

I think the "Ricer" argument is a matter of not recognising that young guys, who do not have the means to buy wild driveline components, & who would love to modify their cars like we do, are

just doing something different & fun till they are ready to seriously

compete with the older(more financial) group who pride themselves on clean, powerful, but more classy looking cars.

At least they are doing something creative, rather than banging drugs up their nose or whatever.Although, I must admit, a few cars I have seen made me wonder if thats what they had been doing just before they did up the car!!!

 :bahaha: :burnout:

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
