So is there any more news about ATESSA controllers? I want to know if driving it in 50/50 on a track day will kill my car.

I'm sure running it at that level wouldn't not do the cluches any good but it certainly would slow your times down considerably.

Mick.

Thanks Mick.

So, can we conclude then that this little Gizmo (HKS Atessa controller) would not be great for track work as it would help to wear out components that otherwise would not be wearing down (as rapidly)?

And can we also say that it's useless then?! I mean, maybe if your car was a daily driver and it was raining hard you could switch to 50/50 4WD. Is that about the only use for this expensive little electronic device?

I wish I could find out more from people who have one fitted. I have tried to search for information on this for the past 30 minutes and only found some very vague comments.

Thanks Mick.

People use it in japan so they can warm up there tyres before they hit the Quarter mile.

Yeah basically. It will wear componants out faster and on a track slow you down. With such power to the front wheels you will be getting plow understeer which massivlky slows you down.

The one I built does not bring the wheels in constantly but it makes the attessa bring the front wheel in earlier on exit to a corner.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
