lmgt4.jpg

what do ya reckon? Reckon the D-specs would come out the same silver as the GT4's in the right light?

Justin you able to confirm whether the silver is the same as the Nismo?

i dunno about getting them in 17", they're are the kinda wheel which look smaller than they actually are, as opposed to something spokey like the R34 GTR rim.

you got any good pics of the side of your car adz? see what 18's look like?

cheers.

D-Spec wheels (if you've seen them in real life) have a very special spoke design that, even though they have moderate offset (+30), they look like the spokes are dished right into the center of the wheel, almost like they have +0 offset (a la Volk TE37s for AE86).

The LM GT4s only look "+0 offset deep spoke" style when they are for GT-R offsets/widths. Usually for GTS-ts and GTS25-ts the GT4s look fairly ordinary. Don't bag me for that comment, I see GT4s ALOT and I don't fancy them so much anymore.

yeah, can see that from the pics on the first page. I like that tho, i like how they sit in a bit.

and looking at the pics in your gallery Adz, they don't have a much 'dish' as the d-spec do they? Still look hot, just don't sit in as much.

The link you put up Justin, are they the company that makes them or is that just a site that sells them? they only have 17" listed, do they come in 18"?? The pics of the chromes on the first page of this thread look like they are 18", but just wondering whether they look like 18" just cos they are on a R32??

i really like the dish look, now to see if they'll fit a R34.... :P

cheers.

Rezz: i take it that what they are trying to achive is the look that the spokes are angled outwards rather than straight up vertical....would this look be achieve even with cars that dont require alot of offset?

How much are they anyway for 18s?

  • 4 weeks later...
i got a set of GT4's from these guys in the states 18/8.5 front & 18/9.5 rears including shipping to the uk was £1285

http://www.nissanparts4less.com/en_US/

dude, that's like $3100 AUD for a set of 18" GT4's, that's a bargain!! And i only want 17" so i'll definitely get in contact with these guys, if i'm lucky might be able to get it under $3000 AUD. That's crazy for GT4's. Thanks so much for that!

:P

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
