r33 with exhaust pod and 10psi beats an STI..

wake up you lying ***ing clown..

Unless the 01 STI bodged the launch, you would have no idea.

that model sti seems to have nothing below 3500-4000rpm so it's possible he stuffed up the launch or he didn't bother racing a ***ing skyline with 19 inch rims.. cause you know.. the skyline then has the traction advantage.

19" inch wheels for traction.. for crying out loud, do you have any idea what the hell you are talking about?

I am laughing at you... so are heaps of others on here..

Thizzle..

I want to hear what $110K went on.

if rigoli name doesn't phase you I'm comfortable that you have already run at least a low 11, high 10 second pass.

Can you give us a mod list or a dyno graph.. or a timeslip..

cheers fella.

no need to tell you can come see it at auto saloon look for the gold r33 gts-t in fibremotive stand

dude said wrx will maul a gtst modified or stock..i disagree as ive never lost to a modded wrx between 250 and 300 kw and learn to read ya dumb ass i said ill give it a go...

cheers FELLA.....

I assume you were calling someone else a dumbarse as I don't recal saying anything bad about your car.

All I wanted to know was what a studio apartment worth of money went on a skyline.

as for seeing it at autosalon... pass.

I'll spend my money on food rather than that.

cheers.

a standard pulsar gti-r will kill a modified rex.

and a standard pulsar gti-r will also munch a gts-t

WTF???? What does that have to do with this thread????

a standard porsche will beat a standard bus.

Easy way to find out get a standard rex and a standard gtst take them to a track and run them, end of story, who ever loses has to do an undie run round the track.

What is a R33 GTSt...? or you refering to a R32 :(

JDM or Aust WRX? in all fairness a JDM WRX should be the one considered don't you think!

In terms of factory performance specs, you can't take anything away from the WRX.

JDM WRX

98/09-99/08: 280ps/34.5kgm 1270kg.

99/09-00/07: 280ps/36kgm, 1270kg.

2.5 GTS25t Type M

97/02-98/04: 250ps/30kgm, 1370kg (2dr).

2.5 GTS25t Type M Spec I or II

96/01-98/04: 250ps/30kgm, 1370kg (2dr).

2.5 GTS25t Type M Active LSD

97/02-98/04: 250ps/30kgm, 1400kg (2dr).

Comparing the same year...JDM WRX

96/09-97/08: 280ps/33.5kgm 1250kg.

97/09-98/08: 280ps/33.5kgm 1250kg.

I can't see the WRX being any less competitive and who said R33 are cheaper, not valid in the land of the rising sun! Too bad we can't bring them in, they're bloody light for a 4WD turbo.

The Aussie WRX still ain't a bad car for the money.

I use to own an my 99 wrx berfore l bought the gtst. I will agree that a rex does feel faster being that it has AWD, but from my personal point of veiw they have nothing on the roll. I can can recall a number of times when rexes, (modifed) beat me off the line thinking they can really shoot the S&*^, but when on the roll the gtst easily drives away from them. Also there are lot of guys out there comparing STI's to GTST's, compare apples with apples, not apples and oranges.

Compare a STI to a VSPEC GTR not a GTST.

You must also look a the bigger picture a lot of rexes l have seen run into the 12's down the quarter but look at there MPH most of the time it is low indcating there lack of top end. Dont look at the time look at the MPH it gives a much better indacation of how fast a car is.

hey dude ..laugh all u want u werent there when it happend u didnt witness any shiet .. u dont have to be a complete f*^cking @rsehole you know... people like you put forumers down specially those who just wants to share their experiences and witnessess and who arent "CRAZY" about cars like you are, "mr know it all"

i was the passenger of the STi when we got ripped by the R33 .. . unless the driver of the STi just doesnt know how to shift but i know he was giving it hard!.. also this was done on the highway rolling, not on the lights ..

take it easy dude ... as i said dont take it too personal buddy!

Im sorry.... but this is one of the dumbest threads i have seen in a long time....

im with GTST, z00mxr32 u gotta be kidding yourself mate! Dont get me wrong, i love my skylines but a sti is not gonna lose to a gtst running 10psi and 19 RIMS lollllll

sno33 , back him up for all i care ... all i can say is "READ ABOVE" coz i aint got anything else to say ..

"take it all easy people" this is juzz a forum .. as i said ...this is wat i experienced as i was there! ..

no offence given ... juzz dont be @rseholes .. were all car supporters here!

Hmmm dickhead...

No I think a modified chicken will probably kill a standard dickhead. It would be close though.

what about a chicken with its head chopped off? i'd think the odds be alot more in the standard dickheads favor there.

but in closing.

a wrx is a short geared rally car, same as pulsar. so compairing them is silly.

but still wrx drivers are a pack of wankers

Modified Chickens?!

19" wheels for traction?!

Fark...

Looking back at the original question which I assume is comparing your STOCK imported 93-98 GTST and a STOCK Aussie-delivered 99 Rex:

RiFT^[R]']Hi ppl I was just wondering what is a faster car a nissan skyline r33gtst or wrx 99  turbo car...Both car are stock??

Rex wins. :(

This thread proves that there's plenty of wankers in the Skyline community.

The WRX is a good car, but some people talk about it like it's a bloody Kia RIO.

This is very true about wankers.. I would say theres a propotional amount more wankers in R33's in particular. But I digress, this might be because theres just so many damn r33's on the road?

imho, a WRX is basically a Kia Rio with a boxter turbo and awd.. similar interior, too. Nothing to write home about really.. its just not enough to get my heart racing due to the lame power delivery. :(

well if you want to look at it that way, the interior is nothing exciting in the R33 gtst range either.

Name one other car under $50K that comes with front seats like the WRX have from 96 onwards.

Name one other car under $50K that comes with a DECENT MOMO air bagged steering wheel?

I'll admit, the door trim and dash on the WRX are as crap as they come.

but the seats are ALOT better than any of the GTST range.

The handling in standard form is alot better than the handling of the standard R33 gtst.

power delivery I also agree with you there..

but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

they are a good budget car.

and lets admit it, subaru still makes turbo cars.

Nissan aren't.

Rex would maul a GTS-T into pieces stock or modified

Is that like the most narrow-minded post so far? Maybe you should go argue with skylinekiller, im sure you'll have a great time.

I bet you if I mod a ride on lawn mower to whatever extent I like ‘how about some jet engines hanging off the sides’ seeing as it’s *modified* It’ll maul any Rex into pieces.

Please people, don’t speak sh#t like this, this thread is so stupid & it's going to lower people to the level of skylinekiller.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
