what is this bbq for? Can it be important enough to miss the last summer(ish) cruise and some quality go-karting?

It's a BBQ i organised for the pulsar club, i changed the date once already and people have got days off from work etc so it would be unfair of me to change it so i can go with you guys lol.

Spewin! but paul might still go.

sweet. should have another 2 four door R32's coming along with me. dont know if we will be carting or not. but good news... i got the night off work.

now i have the problem of who do i take as the passanger, my mate or the girl.

the girl = get laid after.

the mate = doesnt scream when it breaks traction.

hmmm

Woot! That makes 4 4DR 32's :D

There seems to be so many more sedans (R32 & R33) over here in Adelaide than Melbourne it's great.

I was REALLY looking forward to this day... but unfortunately my work has decided I should have all four wisdom teeth removed on the Friday (good April fools joke :D) so I doubt I'll be up to it.

Gotta love the military... "yes we know your wisdom teeth aren't causing you any major problems, but we want them removed just in case they do and your on a military deployment O/S"

Andrew,

Sorry mate :) I know how much you hate it when people say... "I'm in!" and then they pull out.

If you're getting all 4 in one go then that means general anaestetic (spelling?), which beats the 2 by 2 method in the chair, I had the former and was up and about pretty quickly but i wouldn't have been good for a car cruise 1 day later either!

It'll be soup & jelly for you for a little while. :)

what a co-incidence. My gf just had her wisdom tooth's - 4 plus an extra 2 which did not grow out straight, pulled out today and she looks like shes in tremendous pain. In saying this, if she aint better by this weekend then unofrtunatly i wont be attending either. sorry boys/girsl, im so looking forward to it and hope i can make it.

Yeah I'm having a general. The dentist performing the op is a female who is known to be a little more gentle than some... *phew*.

The best part is I get a week off work... which should be plenty of time to brush up on my GT4 skills :D

guys all oral-maxillary surgeons are ball rippers regardless of gender

whathisname, are you sure it's on friday? My mate at the RAF is getting his done on thursday and he said the surgeon is only there for the day. Are you sure the surgeon and not the sergeant is removing your teeth? hehehehehe

Has anyone got a spare seat? A German acquaintence of mine is currently over here with a work visa. He has a soft spot for nissan and skyline as they don't get much of that overthere. He would kill to get on the cruise. My car is not ready unfortunately:( Is any one kind enough to have him as a passenger?

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
