mofodm
Gday, Ive got a R32 gts-t. Its mods are only an 3'' turbo back exaust and a pod. Eventually after ive bought a automatic boost controller im going to raise it to about 11-12 psi i was wondering if an after market bov would make much/any affect on performance? And if so i've always liked the flutter sound can ne1 tell me a nice sounding bov? Thx. R33RWKW
I'm no expert on bov's, but If who want to run on 11-12 psi, I would also get a aftermarket intercooler. You should find out first if you havn't already, if that amount of boost is safe for your engine/turbo set up. The bov will give you a bit more performance, depending on which one you get, and they are also designed to release pressure. If your turbo is standard, I would definitely get one fitted. There are so many models, you will have to look on other threads on this forum (forced induction) or go & see your local turbo/performance engineer to get a professional opinion on your set up. Other people on this forum who know about the RB20 engine setups will be able to help you more than me. My best advice I can give is - prepare your engine & turbo first - before boosting, because it will save money later. Cheers, Chris. R31Nismoid
in relation to "needing" a BOV. No, you do not need and aftermarket one unless yours is leaking a bit. That would be the only reason as for flutter/attention seeking. Use the search button or i'll lock this thread. The whole flutter thing came up again - 2 days ago. immortal
If anything it may help vent some of the hot air before the inlet valves and stop unwanted back-pressure, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/66553-need-an-aftermarket-bov/#findComment-1238752 Share on other sites
