not vr4 that's for sure.

and it's ain't a GTR one..

Looks like a truck cooler of some sort.

no cars come with those as standard.

acutally, I can't think of ANY car apart from a GTR, EVO's, and JAP vr4's that comes with a FMIC with end tanks on either side.. and that cooler is from none of them.

What makes me think it's a truck cooler is the fact that the inlet and outlet are facing in towards the rest of the engine.. most that I've seen on trucks are like that.

i believe RX7 coolers have end tanks facing back

measurements. Hmmmmm.......

Well id say its about the same width as a GTR cooler, i dont know the width off the top of my head, but its prob another 100 - 150mm longer and twice as deep.

Hope this helps, im at work so i cant get the measurements right now. ill go home tonight and measure it up properly if need be.

Either way its pretty PHAT if ya ask me. Will the standard turbo be ok with this? i.e. is the cooler too big? ill prob up the boost to 12psi.

I hate to ruin your party, but I personally think it's off some kind of low boost application like maybe some kind of diesel or a truck. The reason I say that is that the tubes are very thin and restrictive and as such won't be much good for a performance car. If I was you I would give it back or chuck it out. These days you can get a chinese hybrid copy for under $300 so I'd just get one of those if you are on a budget.

BTW, definately not from a GTR/VR4/Evo/skyline/anything good.

DAMIT! The cooler was way too big, took off hte bumper bar and sat the cooler in there, it was up as far as it would go and it hung down that low it wasnt funny! Speedhumps and driveways would have been a no go. Still i cant complain, i got the cooler for free off a mate, so i guess its save the cash and get a GTR cooler for me. Ill put the cooler upfor sale in the for sale section if anyone wants it. $200

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
