hey guys,

for a while now, a couple of us have been tinkering with the thought of making a DVD for ourselves. not for sale, just for our own private use.

any ideas and suggestions would be good. not looking to do anything stupid, but maybe events or cruises, friday nights or working on our cars.

we got all the equipment and editing gear. so feel free to give us any ideas and we'll see what we can come up with. if you would like some cool footage of your car on a DVD, just put your hand up, and we'll organise something. cheers, luke.

nah c'mon lets do something stupid! *puts on battle gear and hides*

i'd love to have my car filmed doing a quick pass (flying past the camera) or just sitting there frying tyres, im just not sure if there is anywhere that is private property and safe that i can think of, unless someone does'nt care if i destroy their driveway? but im happy to abuse my car if it means others enjoyment (and lets be honest, mine to!) but it will have to be somewhere safe (read: away from people i could hurt) and not a public road.

boring as bat-sh*t sean, filming cars on a dyno. how bout we get you and i near each other ripping our tyres to shreds? now thats good fotage!!!

Seeing this on the dyno boring? No way! :talk2hand :) ...

to be honest, yeah! i had fun at the dyno day at the nats with Jayce but cars on dyno's dont do anything--------> rev rev rev noise noise noise, ooohhh power figure..... its kinda exciting seeing it in person, but on video its just dead boring!

it much rather see a car doing what its intended for...being driven! if its so hugely powerfull i'd rather see it on a track doing its thing. and i really dont care what car it is but if its dyno footage on video it'll bore me, but by all means prove me wrong and find a way to excite my with dyno footage, if i actually enjoy it, then you've proved your point.

I think i just creamed my pants. do you know when this beast is going on and is this that blue one that was out at the charity cruise ???

I've been toying with the idea of making a DVD for a few years now. I've been collecting footage from track days, auto salon, dyno comps, etc. I want to do some night time cruising and stuff but is so hard to shoot with mini dv in low light.

One day I'll finally sit down and edit all this footage and create something. Just been way too busy to really get down and do it. I think I'll start bringing the camera out again on Fridays if there are good turnouts consistently.

I think i just creamed my pants. do you know when this beast is going on and is this that blue one that was out at the charity cruise ???

Thats the one -- you can read about it at http://www.200sex.com.au

Theres going to be a couple of big hitter cars at the dyno day, should be good :aroused:

i wouldnt mind some when my car gets the fmic on  i know its nothing special but i love it
lol there not making a documentray on sea life leigh! lol :jk: :)

/me runs and hides from angry angry leigh

(read: away from people i could hurt)

thats not what you told me you said you wanted me to hold on to your wing and see how long it takes for me to fall off while going 170km/h whilst filming it, now that i think of it thats not fair!!!

even though my cars still in the shop (with the price tag still on it bahahaha!) i wouldnt mind grabbing a copy of this it sounds awesome!!!

great to see so much interest.

just trying to get ideas at this stage. once we have an idea of whats happening, i'll post up about it again.

shooting at night on mini DV can be problem, but not if you got the right camera, like me. i also have access to an incar camera mount, which isn't dodgy, which took a while to make, and also a jib arm, which can reach up to about 5-6m high. we got all the gear,, just need the ideas.

and yes, stupid stuff would be cool, but only if we can do it on a private road or property.

I'm interested depending on what you decide to do. Obviously not game to be caught doing something stupid on camera on public roads.

Would be nice to be on film on my own grounds. Scotts Big Boys Toys already using my car in a TV ad without my permission.

    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
    • Ok so will run the piping over that radiator and no plenum it is. Put that money towards a Haltech and see what suits. Any ideas something like an elite 2000 or 2500 right? My long term goal is 300kw e85 and manual swap and that’s a dream come true. For now will be 200kw and auto the stock rb25det neo intake isn’t too expensive with throttle body. If I was to have the port matching done, Would that be better than the stock de intake as the det has bigger holes plus has the spots for sensors etc? And suit more long term?  appreciate the advice?
    • You understand AFR is not the only thing that contributes to it pinging yeah? Funnily, what the AFR gauge will tell you when it likely is pinging, is going to make you think things are really safe and good.
