Maybe once this mystery is solved we can research the meaning behind Toyota and Mitsubishi's engines, anyone hazzard a guess at what 1JZGTE or 4G63 stand for? :)

Have a look here for toyota ones http://www.toymods.org.au/tech.html

RB = Rough Bastard ?????

RB = Rude Bitch/Bastard ?????

& just for you Messiah, doesn't pH stand for percent Hydrogen ?????

how can a scale that starts at 1 and goes to 14 be a percentage? :(

Nah just to clarify pH, when a fluid is "ionized" it breaks off into negative and positive Ions. Water produces roughly equal ammounts of neg/pos ions and hence is neutral. Things like HCL (Hydrochloric acid) give out more positive ions than negative.... or was that the other way around.... but due to this its an acid

but u get the drift.

I find it comical that there are several sites that endulge in the whole Race Breed thing.

All I can say is RB20E.... & the diesel RB28.... NOT what I'd call race breed personally.

.

dont forget the good old rb30e! :)

Racooo Breeedoooo!!11!

rd28.jpg

68kW/170Nm of track-tearing performance fitted to the equally apex-hugging NQ Patrol.

Although, admittedly this is actually an RD28 due to it being diesel rather than petty powered... :(

    • Not without making up a new screamer pipe from scatch I don't think based upon the angles of the current return. Backpressure shouldn't be an issue though as the straight gate isn't affected by backpressure in the same way that a poppet valve is, and on top of that the exhast system is 4" all the way through so there should be minimal pressure if any to begin with.
    • Can you vent the straight gate to atmosphere easily for testing?
    • Heres a dyno log comparing MAP TPS RPM TURBO SPEED Each hump is 2nd, then 3rd then 4th gear. This particular log is using gate pressure with the mac valve completely removed. As you can see it spikes to 23psi, and then drops to 20psi over the course of approx 700rpm, this is the minimum pressure the system will run using a 12psi spring. I think my next set of logs will be changing the spring to the 6psi spring and going out and doing another set of logs again and see if the spike is as dramatic. As you can imagine if it spikes 3psi on wastegate pressure, that increases to 5-6psi of difference in the higher boost levels approaching the 28psi target with the mac valve. I even have a few logs here where with the mac valve targetting 28psi, the haltech is seeing 38.6psi....
    • I've got a spare standard box sitting in the garage  I know it will come one day though, but it's driven pretty tamely on the four times a year it gets out...
    • Big question… have you decided on a gearbox? Because it’s going to come… and a gearset ain’t going to do the job.    save your pennies 🤪
