Well tonight was pretty succesfull all round. Most of all macca.

I ran a 13.8, which I was very pleased about, Couldn't do it again though!!

Macca started with a 13.06, which we were all impressed with. But he had to show off and pull a 12.9 on his final atempt!!

Sean(or shan?) was pullin 13.1's to I think about 13.6's.

And adam was havin a bit of trouble with his car, 14.4 was his best I think.

Paul Didn't race cause his car is slow.

But all in all a pretty good night. (I'm F#ckin Happy!!)

We think Hicks actually picked up someone else's slip cause he only ran 14's when people were watching. :DThe only reason I didn't run was casue I had to lend my racing slicks to Macka, only reason he got the 12.9, other wise I'd have shown you what a 13 sec car looks like.

Well done Hicks.

See'ya:burnout:

not to worry, i'll vouch for you being car T20! - I saw it!

Trust me, I'm not sure what was different on that run but I did do it. You can see my car T20 on some of the pics.

ITS ME DAMMIT!!

Well done Hicks.. not a bad effort at all.. gotta be pretty happy.

Adam.. you can try again when you get the car sorted out. If you don't burn it between now and then. Just have faith.

and Macka, bloody Macka.. just when I thought I had ya beat. Well done old boy, 12.98 is somethin to be proud of...especially seeing as you raced the whole night without blowin anything up.

Well I'm pretty stoked with my 13.10 ... the little Sr was screamin it's head off all the way down the quarter.

Time for some real mods.. please God, gimme 12's . :(

Hehe I think most of us were happy with the results,

On one run it was pretty funny Hicks took 2 car lengths on me at the start and then he looked at me as i flogged past him and I waved :D I think thats when u got u your 13.8 Hicks :(

I pulled my 12.98 Racing that Torana and he blew me a new hole but thats when i did my best too..

Oscar (Shannon) Did bloody good thats when i thought they were having Timeclock problems when he showed me his 13.2 first run!

KillerT Those tyres are top secret, They are worth a lot maybe we can do a deal haha.

Dont tell GTS-t VSPEC hey but ill give u a hint, It wasnt the tyres that did it :(

Macka,

What do you mean it wasn't the tyres!??? It must be that large snail that crawled into your engine bay. Shit, just imagine the time you could have got on some decent tyres, probably would have fried your clutch though if you got more traction.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
