As above, you require a L2S licence, and depending on numbers ill be able to arrange for free accomodation for us with friends and family in Sydney.

You get plenty of track time, and days are not usually too busy.

Ill be heading up on the Thursday and most likely spending the Fri/Sat playing up in Sydney, trhen heading back on the Sunday...perhaps earlier if i can swing a day at Wakefield or Winton on the way up/back

Didn't you blow your car up Troy ?? What's doing ?

LOL..had a few problems, but skyline_geoff was champion enough to help me out with garage space and buzz words like "it aint so bad...stop dribbling and work":)

So a few weekends of the old manual labour and she was back running, better then ever.

Actually the better then ever comes courtesy of Scotsman steering me in the right direction and RPMGTR getting the engine/tune on song after the little old electrical fire, then the AVCR brain fart:(

But for the time being the ca has never ran so strongly:) Hence me wanting to get back to some of the NSW tracks and A) see the time difference from the mods, B) See if my driving is improving as i have now driven on a larger cross section of track types.

As for Wakefield, i was going to do the UAS day, but if there is an open day on Saturday after EC, then it owudl be more convenient to do it on the way back to Vic

OK great news.

There is a round of the NSW supersprint champs on at Oran Park on Sunday 17/5, so if you can make it up for a weekend it will be a great one.

Oran Park GP is by far the best track in NSW, great fun and a real challenge.

Details are on the NSWRRC website here: http://nswrrc.com/ss-rnd2.html

You will need a L2S CAMS license for the day, full details are in the Supp Regs.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well im heading up to Sydney this weekend, probably Sunday morning.

EC is easy on brakes with only 1 big stop for turn 2, about 210-220 back to about 75km/h so will make do with a new set of pads. Found my boost leak, it was a split rubber elbow, smallest of bloody, silly splits, but that bit of IC pipe needs replacing anyway...so anyone keen for the drive up this weekend...also there is a spring at Oran Park, but im guessign entries may be full by now.

    • So, they admitted via message that they accidentally sent me a non Hella product. Then, hilariously, out of nowhere I get questioned about the legitimacy of my BMW intercooler for sale. This is the first *ever* enquiry in over 18 months. WIthin 8 mins of me telling "Total Engines" that I'd be reporting them for selling knock off's.
    • I don't know what it is supposed to look like, but I'd suggest confirming with Hella whether it is genuine. Some of the photos online do show parts with a Hella stamp on them. This looks sus.
    • Couldn't help but share the pics of my $350 "Hella" oil level sensor that arrived from totalengines via eBay today. It's like they're not even trying anymore ... And I think that's sad.
    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
