i heard the R31 only runs a 13, squats and goes all over the place

Haha, I can imagine, mine already has major squat related traction issues and its probably only making 170kw at the fly, if that... Bit of a design flaw that.

Have you got any internal mods on this engine?

R you gonna go RB25/30 for your new engine?

Yeah it has the usual mods, forgies, cams, big injectors etc. I did have all the specs on my computer but it crashed and i lost it. It will make a lot more power yet with new computer and more timing will make 300rwkw easy.

Cool! hopefully I will break through that 300rwkw barrier soon, I was thinking of going for a bigger turbo also but I dont like lag so I think I will stick with the 3037 for awhile yet.

Where in Tas are you? How much boost are you running? I have had car dynoed twice had problems both times. 1st go 262.5rwkw @ 13.2psi then shagged the plugs. 2nd go 269.6rwkw @ 14.2psi and the standard computer started retarding the timing. I am making about 7rwkw for every 1psi.

I had standard head, standand cams, standard exhuast manifold with 3" exhaust, big injectors, FMIC, HaltechE11 and running bout 14psi and I got 269rwkw.

Now I am rebuilding engine so most of that stuff has been upgraded expect for turbo, haltech and injectors. So the only thing stoping me to make more that about 320rwkw is the turbo, but I dont think I will upgrade as I dont want big lag either.

Im in Launceston

I spoke to the owner of the white R34 GTT with graphics, a kit and stock rims down here in Hobart and he reckoned his car was running NOS and making close to 500bhp. Personally i call bullshit, but you never know. From what i saw it has a decent sized FMIC, full exhaust (3.5" or maybe 4" towards the back), boost controller and some gauges.

Reason why i call bullshit is coz he said he was running "Stage 1" NOS. When i asked him what HP shot he was running and to explain exactly what "Stage 1" NOS is he just repeated it was Stage 1. I also said what turbo, he said standard :bs!: .

The car came from NSW and was tuned at a reputable workshop, i cant remember which one exactly. He still has the workshops sticker on his rear windscreen.

Standard turbo id say it was :bs!: also

Yep im calling :bs!: aswell, although if its true he can do what ever mods he wants to my car to get that amount of power from stock internals and turbo

Yeah Tim a boost controller is NOS didnt you know that?

Thats why everyone loves the missile switches on the bleed valve setups so they can be LiKe Da FaSt AnD Da FuRiOuS N DeY cAn B KoOl LiKe PaUl WaLkErZ n BlOw DeIr FlOoR oN2 Da RoAd WhEn DeY hIt Da NoOoOoOzZzZzZ SwITcHoRz SiIiIiIkKKKK!!

... that was a tad overused eh? haha

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
