rev210
Anyone know what could be causing my car to not idle smooth (even stall sometimes) when the aircon is switched on? It's not: The plugs. The timing. The airflow meter. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/7165-doest-idle-smooth-with-aircon-on/ Share on other sites
predator
Well aircon saps a bit of power from the engine... your idle is probably set too low. You'll probably want it turned up and you should see the problem go away. ron
hi, a/c 's compressor draws a hug amount of current. a skylines ECU is really good at adjusting the idle not to let the car stall. So check your alternator and battery with a dmm. So check your alternator and battery with a dmm. You could be onto something here. I've tried adjusting the idle. It works only when the idle is set (aircon off) to 1,100rpm which is too high for normal use. Other than that it will 'hunt' and occasionally stall with the aircon on, as you hear the 'clutch' engage. Everything else appears to run well though. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the power out from the alternator and battery. Doctor
Makes sure your ACC is pugged in . (brown plug at the the back of the plenum) Also pull it off and give it a good clean out. MrMayhem
when your ac is applied the ac "idle up valve" lifts your idle to compensate for the extra loading. be checking that Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/7165-doest-idle-smooth-with-aircon-on/#findComment-111478 Share on other sites

Steve
Hmm, pretty sure the AC control is the purple plug, not the brown. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/7165-doest-idle-smooth-with-aircon-on/#findComment-111969 Share on other sites
