Floody - Yeah thought was was the case. This Coupe (french guard version) had Hyundai's own Alpha series engine... Don't for a moment think that I know this because I'm interested tho!!

Actually Stu, I'm not certain on the current generations of cars, but the first two generations of Excels used Hyundai manufactured, licensed variants of Mitsubishi motors. The S-coupe's have turbo mitsubishi motors, quite similar to the Lancer GSR's I'm lead to believe.

Here's another nomination. Was at that Scottish restaurant in Rosny Park (Hobart) today - you know McDonalds! Saw an electric blue pulsar parked outside, big chromies, GTIR bonnet intake, body kit ( at least I think that's what it's meant to be) stickers etc etc. This car is someone's pride and joy but looked to me like a heap of gold chains on a hairy chest - bling bling! and fairly tasteless. Was this car at one stage an ET turbo or is it just a standard pulsar that someone has wasted thousands on?

Any magna with a bodykit, U know they actually have a club for those guys, One of there last outings was a trip to AMF bowling in Moonah!!!!!!!

I mean if your going out cruising, you dont go bloody bowling ;)

Anyone in Launceston seen the loser who has just appeared in the white Camira? Every time I've seen him he's been blasting around and driving like a f*&^wit. Checkerplate where the back number plate goes, and it looks like he's either put a big radiator with flashy pipes or a FMIC on the front. Include the set of alloys and you've got a full on performance car!

What about just starting with a decent car?

Yeah i have seen that pulsar about (way over done) did you see the two 5" cannon mufflers hanging out the back of it (only one is hooked up) lol....oh dear

:D

yeh i agree with you all, whats the point doing up an excel? but seriously whats wtrong with the stocko one's being a cheapo daily to get about in? I have one only cos I need something cheap while saving for a r32 gtst. seriously some people are ignorant - sorry "we" cant keep up with the jones's. <_<

dunno what your on about, id gladly have an excel or accent as a daily, but i wouldn't mod it and put decals and rice can's and shit on it

How about the Barbie Pink 200sx here in Launceston

It also now has a twin with green to purple pearl

I'd own both ;) Love the 200SX's

Its just cars like: e.g i have seen a pulsar with all performance brand stickers on it and one of them was a RALLI////ART sticker (on a pulsar??? :) ) also seen a hyundai coupe with nismo stickers on it :P

its just people that havent got a basic clue about Cars / Mechcanics

last night a grey kia mentor was being an idiot near me driving stupid, he kept spinning the wheels next to me........ :) .......it was raining an he couldn't snap second gear for god sakes :)

Luke.

:)

Only one is hooked to keep the noise down it has a flange that can be removed so only one runs. and he bought i like that pretty much

I seen a nice 200SX Silver one in a car yard in Launceston (not sure which one it was Jacksons or something else) werent too bad :) for a standard car any way ..

Also i own a skyline R33, but yea i lost my licence for 8 months (oh well) when shes back on the road ill be looking foward to it :P.

As im saving lotsa money ATM :P.

Do any of you Guys/Girls know of any places that install turbos and all different modds?? ive been told theres a few in Hobart but coming from the west to goto Hobart is a bit far.....

Cheers.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
