I just got them today from a place in Seven Hills

$76 for the 2.

I dealt with Frank at:

Bearing Industries

Seven Hills Rd (cnr Station Rd) Seven Hills 2147

(02) 9674 4322

There is one in Yennora as well.

I will post up the part numbers later but they are NSK - so they are the same as the originals.

  • 1 month later...

Idler: NSK 56TB 2801 B01

Tensioner: NSK 60TB 0683 EA7L 806

I think the idler was the more expensive one (about $48). The tensioner about $28

These were for an R33!!

Not sure if R32 is the same. The tensioner is the same as for VL commo hence its cheapness.

Chrisso - glad you got them at the good rate.

I'm sure by now you found that the bearings include the pulleys. No need to push out old bearings etc

There the same bearings aswell i.e same manufacturer as genuine ones. No difference in quality..

My old bearings weren't that bad - but for that price I didn't want to risk it.

Yeah mate - all inclusive

I ended getting onefrom BSC and the other from CBC. CBC had them listed as different part numbers though - but the numbers were stuck over the original part number (???)

The mechanic pretty much insisted they be replaced. He's stoked that he knows where to get them cheap now too!

Thanks again!!

thanks benl1981 your advise has saved me A LOT of $$$.

The blokes at bearing industries are absolute champions I paid friday and the bearings were in my letterbox first thing monday morning.

The part number for the tensioner is different than the one posted above

TENSIONER: NSK 60TB 0732A

$40

IDLER:NSK 56TB 2801 B01

$42

would NSK know what part numbers are for what part? Eg, would they know if they would fit RB20??

Also, Is it possible to buy without the pulleys? As I can use the press at work and save me some money.....

Wonder if they post to melbourne....

Suppose I should just ring them...

A the beraing place, they new that they would have a bearing that fits, but they aren;t listed i the computer system that they fit skylines.

There's no point in getting them without pullies as the bearings are about $55 and $85.

If you try CBC, they have different part numbers for the same bearings, are a little more expensive (not much) and they have the bearings listed as ones for skylines... I think the tensioner is the same as the VL commodore, but the vl doesn't use an idler. (or maybe the other way around) so it's not as easy to find, but it's out there!

Yeah, Either they are good bargainers, or It might be tade price?

I got one of mine from Bearing service center and the other from CBC. CBC where about $10 each more expensive.

Stil, I paid $130-40 ish all up and was happy as the mechanic could only find original nissan Idler and a VL tensioner. At $270 for just the idler - I started searching! Found this thread.

The mechanic actually rang me up a few days later asking for the part numbers and where I got it! They do a lot of imported nissans.

    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
    • Hey mate, really appreciate the help. Have been looking pretty extensively myself and was certain they were retro fitted, but then ended up finding a 4 door with what looks like the same side skirts or at least the closest I’ve seen. • Isn't there a PAR engineering gearset that has closer to stock ratios? And they claim they'll do whatever ratios you want.
