i am planning to strip down my series 1 5sp box. there used to be a web site with step by step info and photos on the procedure, i have been unable to find the site does any one know or heard of this site? it could have been linked to the down under website?

or does and know where i can get the full w/shop manual for my model?

has anyone done this them self before?

what problems did you run into?

what bearings and syncros did you use?

You have got to be exceptionally gutsy to tackle a gearbox recon. It would be best to have some experience in the motor industry in order to take it on. In order for it to work you would need to set clearances, use correct shims and know exactly how a manual gearbox works. Anyway I wish you the best of luck and let us know how it goes.
