Hey All,

I got myself an 89 R32 GTR on the weekend. WOOO!!! :Pimp2:

Its got a vacuum leak from the diaphram of the clutch booster. It also has a slight fluid weep from the bucket/plunger in the slave. I'm guessing the clutch fluid hasn't been changed as often as it should, and it's caused leaks in the slave and probably the master aswell (which would possibly cause the diaphram leak).. This means i'll be up for a replace the diaphram and rekit the slave and probably the master too. I'm not 100% as i haven't opened it up yet.

Anyway, I'm looking for Nissan part number for the diaphram and part numbers to re-kit the master and slave.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or tricks on this one? Or should I just chase up a second-hand booster?

Could it be possible that they share the same part numbers as a blue bird, pintara, or patrol? :D I'd like to think so, but I couldn't be that lucky could I?!

Cheers,

Rob.

Bad news is there's no repair kit for the clutch booster - secondhand is probably the next option as new is likely to be mega-$$

Repair kit PN's for the master and slave are:

master piston and seal kit - 30611-05U25

slave seal kit - 30622-16E25

slave piston kit - 30621-05U25

Someone has mentioned that the R32 GTR clutch slave is the same as the RB25 GTSt type which is also found on local Pathfinders (?? - not totally sure, you need to check)

You're a champion!!!

Is there an individual seal kit for the master? like the slave? or do the masters only come as a piston and seal kit?

Thanks heaps!

Anyone had to repair a clutch booster before? I've got a nasty twin plate clutch and its hard enough as it is! I guess I'll find out the damage when I get it apart :D

Only one kit is listed for the master which includes piston, seal and some other parts.

It's possible there's a locally available equivalent for the master cylinder - probably start somewhere like Repco, and it might work out cheaper than repair kits from Nissan. I'm fairly sure that's true of the slave - someone else will hopefully confirm, but I'm fairly sure it was the pathfinder.

If you decide to buy from Nissan, give the parts guy your VIN so he can confirm the above PN's and check for any recent changes.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
