Hi

Just like to find out if I'm the only person who has a ****ed up driveway and takes about 10 minutes getting their car in or out?

If by chance you are/were one of these people, do share your remedies... even though my 34's front bar will come out sooner or later, it hurts me just the same when I hear any scratch!!!

Well, I have a stock honda prelude - and getting into my garage, i almost bottom out, there's literally a 1mm gap between the bottom of the front bar and the concrete... :) i was going to get the OEM lip too :'( bah!

Low cars (hell - mine's standard!) and (or maybe JUST ---> ) bad driveways suck!

I think it's a combination of the bad driveway, and the lowered car... my 34 managed to clear the low ground before the suspension got put in, but now it doesn't!!!

So what's your remedy? Or is the 1mm enough each time?

The 1mm is enough that it doesnt scrape going in - reversing out however if I don't want to scrape, I have to go real slow, ride the clutch, and rev it a bit once it's past the "bottoming out point"...

What I'll be doing when I get the kit is parking the car in the carport rather than in the garage :) hehe...

If you have the cash, maybe see about getting the driveway re-done? Alternatively you could try some planks of wood or something to change the incline? I'm not too sure - it all depends on the shape of the driveway and what you're willing to do about it :)

Yeah, the planks of wood idea is floating around at the moment... we literally have a massive "V" in our driveway that kills many cars (so many pizza delivery cars have copped it hard).

Tomorrow morning, 6 pieces of wood will be sawn up and laid down to "bridge" the divide... hopefully it works!

I got my car on Thursday (8/6/05), had the suspension done on Saturday (11/06/05) and am now trying to figure out the driveway on Sunday (12/06/05) - I think this is overkill!!!!

i just take every driveway sideways and i have no problems...

Little hard when you live in the middle of a valley and there is literally a "Grand Canyon" between your driveway and the road - I've tried going sideways - didn't work :)

OK how's this one for style on Queen's Birthday...

Managed to get my 34 off the street last night and into the garage - forgot to test whether i could get it back out again *DOH!*

Anyways, woke up this morning thinking hey let's go for a drive... Umm, I'm Stuck!

09:00 am: Go into back yard

09:15 am: Drag out fat ass plank of wood (the ones used in stairwells)

09:30 am: Began to saw it into 4 planks (1metre each)

10:30 am: Finished with the sawing (it was a very thick plank ok!)

10:45 am: Test 1

10:47 am: HOORAY!!!

10:50 am: Use spray paint to mark plank placings for future ref.

10:55 am: Back car out and zoom zoom zoom!

Basically i have put a ----- over this thing that looks like ___/ .

The only downside is having to remove them each time you back in or out (about 2 minutes). Otherwise, you risk people stealing the ramps or the council fining you for an unauthorised protrusion from your house.

I'll try to get a photo of it today for you all...

Nice work mate :D Your driveway sounds like hell! In answer to your other Q, yeah I'm on the beaches - up near Avalon. I think I read in another thread you're from around beacon hill?

yes mine is a pain is ass 2?just the other day my mum hit a a brick wall on the side of my car.the same day i was in a rush to get out of the rain and it scraped and also cracked it?

so anyone wants to sell a standard front bar and lip of a r32 gtr i will have a look?also will swap for mine if anyone wants?its a veilside concept?pm me or ring 0417666054

I scrape the front everytime and if I don't angle it properly the rear hits aswell, can't do anything about it, driveway got redone not long ago so it's not AS bad but still hits. Just have to get the bar fixed every so often, haha.

try livin in the country lol, where i live is like a largeish rural town, stupid dodgy streets i gotta drive on... alota st's i come out of i have 2 take on an angle due to the stupid drains design they have :|, my mates driveway was the WORST driveway in the entire country, worse than the one u fixed by using a plank of wood mate lol, it was like tryna get my car up an everest incline, thats how steep the stupid thing was, and all concrete didnt do wonders for my front bar, problem solvered.... park out the front lol :)

I thought I could leave my car out the front as well... but every night i have these idiots go up and down the street (my street is like a skating ramp, and i'm down the middle). Some go more than 100 clicks, so I don't really want my car to be in their way.

When i first moved in to my current house, before we purchased it I did a driveway test for the car. I when straight in and scraped the hell outta the front bar and cracked it. then reversing out i got so stuck. the back tyres were smoking so much the neighbour came over and had a good laugh at me but eventually with four people pushing the car up i got out. I back in now. the physics of push and pull or something i have no problems getting out of my driveway now.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
