Hi ppls,

Bl4ck32 and I have an AP Engineering R32 RB20DET PowerFC.

We have ran in to issues (Bl4ck32 Specifically) where the load points are being maxed out preventing more boost and power.

We are both running RB30DET's, using the R32 RB25 head and RB30 bottom end.

I am making 176rwkw and Bl4ck32 is making 200rwkw.

I use load point 19 to make this powe rand Bl4ck32 uses load point 20.

The problem is the PowerFC appears to have ran out of load points.

I have replaced my stock airflow meter with a Z32 item, it didn't change the load point used, only the voltage per load point.

i.e The Z32 AFM it now peaks at 4v (thats load point 19) vs the rb20 AFM at 4.9v (that was also at load point 19).

Bl4ck32 is using a Q45 AFM. Same thing, only voltage has changed not the load point used.

So.. The larger (not literally) AFM doesn't reduce the load point used, what can I and Bl4ck32 do now?

What load points are some of you ppls with PFC's using at WOT and what power are you making?

Any tuners out there care to shed any light on our brick wall?

Our Tuner is contacting Apexi to find out what he can do, he has used the Datalogit software previously and said it cannot change the load point scale.

I've attached a pic of the AFM Menu that is located within the Settings menu.

All of the AFM menu AFM items contain the same values.

I am thinking *hoping* this 'may' change the load points used if the 3.84-5.12v is changed from say 100% to 80%??

Similiar to the way a SAFC works.

He said that it cannot change the load point scale, or that it needs some correction added to one of the tables.....me cant remember exaclty

The tuner has no issues making 200+rwkw with other rb20's and their PFC's (Chris32) as higher load points at higher rpm = over 200rwkw.

However, I think it does come down to his lack of experience with the rb20 pfc. Generally speaking he does a good job tuning and tunes safe, not to mention he charges bugger all.

The only other tuning shop I would touch down this way want $600 (Tilbrooks).

Others have a reputation of breaking things and or simply not giving a good tune via the PFC.

It appears RB25 pfc's are calibrated differently as at wot and 200rwkw or so they are only hitting load point 15 max. So obviously a lot of head room.

Can ppls check out their Airflow menu?

mine goes up to load point 16 or 17 on 9psi - RB30DET with 25 head in r33 with r33 pfc. Does this mean i will have this problem when i finally want to run bigger injectors for bigger boost ? they are running at 90% + atm and im only running stock injectors

interesting...

Mine gets up to load point 16/17, somtimes 18

I wired in the Z32 and selected the Z32 AFM option, otherwise it wouldn't run at all with normal AFM selected

Could it be becasue the AP PFC uses a GTR PFC, and being configured for only the one AFM its using more of the map than it would with 2 AFM's?

I remember in a old Zoom mag they where talking about the fc-logit software being able to extend the map in regards to RPM, but I dont remember it mentioning load

Maybe SK could shed more light, as he runs FC-logit and the RB20 PFC on his R32 RB30 setup doesn't he?

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
