Hi,

I received a defect notice that was a self-clearance. I have made the changes, signed the notice along with a certified db test (done at an exhaust shop with the correct testing gear) and handed it in at the police station. The lady at the front desk said she'd pass it on to the officer.

My question is for self clearances, should i be expecting an acknowledgement for the defect being cleared or is signing a self-clearance the end of the process?

i think that signing it is good enough but if you get pulled up again and those defects are still on your car they can fine you and take points. (dont quote me on this) best thing to do is ring up the D.O.T and ask what is involved with a self clearance notice and how does it work???
