Hang on, well all complain about "why aren't there any track days on the weekend", well this is why, its a lot more expensive to book the track than during the week.

Motoconcepts made it clear that the track days are not making them enough money, they've already decided to cut back to 6 this year instead of 12 last year.

It could become hard to get time on the track unless we either:

* Support these guys,

* Get cams affiliation and run our own events, or

* Get CAMS licenses individually and go serious super sprinting.

I think these days are top fun, and we have to think how we can make them work.

That's the go! :)

Point taken Duncan. However, I don't think MotoConcepts have the same commitment to the Drive days that they do for the Bike Ride days.

Having said that, the good thing for us about the Drive days is the lack of need to organise anything on our part.

:P

Both Duncan and Dino are correct. But I have to sway more to Duncans side.

They don't put as much into the drive days because they are simply more work for them... the ride days fill up about 2 months before the event date and they also get less drop outs... look at it from a business point of veiw and I wouldn't focus on the drive days so much either. They cut the drive days back for that reason and the fact that they didn't get as many day that they could hire the tracks.

I'll be collecting deposits of $50 which are non-refundable on Sunday the 2nd of Feb at Carpark 6C at Hombush between 2pm and 4pm. If you don't have a deposit then you won't be included in the numbers given to MotoConcepts and thus won't have a spot saved for you.

I'll try to get prices today.

Dan.

Whats the go with Homebush, if your collecting deposits would it be too much hassle for you if i just dropped my deposit off to you when your working next out my way??? Maybe even pick up the vid if its ready

Roy,

No Probs,

I hope to have the Vid done by Friday... which is the next time I'm working out your way, so yeah... if you wanna drop me a deposit then that would be fine... I chose homebush as it is pretty central for everybody.

All,

Thats 19 not including Oz... lets see how many put their money where their mouth is on the 2nd of Feb and come up with a deposit. I have mine in!

You need ot have a deposit to me on the 2nd of feb as stated above. Spots will probably limited to 20 and we already have 19 + 1 maybe... you decide if you run the gauntlet or not.

All,

Dave has not come back with the price yet. I will keep at him,

I will call again on Tuesday.

With the prices Dave has been very good at keeping us at or just above cost. If he stops making money they we stop having track days. I may only be speaking for myself but I am happy to pay a little extra just to make sure he is going to keep suppling us with a place to drive my car.

...supplying us with a place to drive your car... Cool i was waiting for someone to throw their 33 GTR keys my way. Break out the cameras people there is going to be tears:D

My way of thinking is whats the fine for doing 180 on the street, seems pretty cheap to me.

If only these days had pit girls and i had a triple layer suit, well i guess you know who the frustrated race driver is.

I have to agree with both roy and Oz... how much do you pay for doing 80km's over the speed limit... and that is if you still have the speed cut on your car... I have done over 200 on race circuits and have not been booked yet!!! I have only ever done 20 kms over on a public road... and been booked 4 times. nuf said!

I also contacted moto concepts and have not heard back yet.

Of course I do... I'm training to sell my line and buy a Volvo!!!!

No, I don't really watch the speedo... but my passengers do! Remember you did when you were in my car... 197km/h!

and that is if you still have the speed cut on your car...

Yeh that would be me, with the speed cut i only have to lift and turn in with just a slight touch of break into turn 1 at Eastern Creek, so unitl i get a better handle on fast turns like that ill stick with the limiter thanks.

Will i have the same prob of hittng the speed cut on the straight at Oran?

Limiter at Oran? Only some very quick cars would hit it. More like 170-180. Its different coz turn 2 at the end of the straight is much sharper than turn 1 at Eastern Creek, so you'll be on the brakes much earlier :uh-huh:

Yeah I remember that. Volvo's are good cars! Don't knock them.... :bahaha:

    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
