its nearly time to start modding the 33 so i thought id see if anyone could help me achieve the best results

im gonna be fitting a 3" exhaust from turbo back so i need ideas on places that do good exhaust fittings. im also interested in keeping it quiet to attract less attention without loosing any power (if possible)

i got a cooler goin on which is all sorted

and a safc2 which i will prolly leave in the glove box for the time being. ill probably get it tuned at chiptorque...

if anything else can be done to make more with stnd turbo and safc (like fuel pump. or reg or something) please tell

also, anyone got any experience installing a new stereo themselves using stnd speakers?

thanks for your time

As to the Exhaust, Rob Bliss did my dump pipe and I bought a aftermarket exhaust from japan that was 3" stainless and pretty much a straight system including 3" cat. Some really good prices landed are on offer if you are prepared to look and wait.

i got my dump pipe through batmbl here on the forums

was excellent

chased up a secondhand gtr cooler cheap, which meant i could spend a bit more on converting the plennum to forward facing (less piping, less hassles)

got a good quiet blitz exhaust for less than 500 bux from option1 (they had plenty to choose from)

Where you going to drive it mostly? Going to do any track or mountain work?

Sounds like you have the basics covered.. and should give you around 170-200rwkw with stock turbo. After that I would look at spending money on suspension, sway bars and other handling items before going too much faster as you'll be losing it to the ground. Sort them out and you can beat many other cars which much more power :)

I Installed my own sterio I was thinking about using the stock speakers. However mine were buggered. The cones are paper and are either dead or about to be dead. I hooked my head unit up to the stock speakers and it sounded awful. Went to JB and got two sets of Pioneer 6' two ways for $98. Now it sounds 100% better with out costing too much. Ditch the stock speakers and look for some bargins on good brand speakers :uh-huh:

Got in touch with vic member INASNT he can supply whiteline for cheaper than thier website.

Got to consider sizes now, thier upgrade is 24mm front & 20 rear but they also have 27F & 22R, he can supply the 27f but only 20r.

Is it worth putting that combo on or would it affect the dynamics as it is the rear I want to tame?

Diam

Refers to the diameter in millimeters of the Whiteline/Selbys Swaybar catalogued bar. Generally these are "touring sizes" with replacements being around 1-5mmlarger than the original. Note that "extra heavy duty" oversize diameters are also available for many applications. Some Whiteline/Selbys Swaybars are of the same diameter as original, but only when replacing an OEMhollow or tubular design with a solid Whiteline/Selbys Swaybar.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
