I have installed my nismo AFM's, an d now, unfortunately I cannot drive (or start) the car, because the AFM's are a fair bit different compared to the stock afm's

Does anyone know the values I need to enter into the pfc to adjust the afm settings so that i can at least drive it to the workshop ?

Cheers

Tommy

I cannot choose that option ?

I have 5 options on the screen, but I cannot individually select one of them. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? How do I choose the vg30 option?

I'm guessing that the reason for this is that is because my tuner has completely locked out my screens. Thats why im very shitty. The only thing I can do, is edit the voltage %'s. But I dont really know what to add

Its a strange way the pfc uses to select the afm you want.

Simply enter the Airflow menu and highlight the one you want using the up/down keys.

Then simply press back to return to the main menu and that afm will be selected.

Just to note though I am able to start and drive my car on any of the afm selections, allthough they don't run it that well but it still runs. :D

Yep..your tuner locked the handcontroller.

I can however edit the %'s next to them

BUT i dont know exactly what to add ?

read what cubes posted again. go in to the AFM option screen. highlight the VG30 option then hit back. you will now have selected that option. Like a said in the first post the car will run and drive but it will need to be tuned as it won't be safe (or any fun) to thrash it.

I dont think so

I mean i can move the cursor over it, and then back out

But when i go to start the car, it starts idles for a bit and then dies

I think i am going to have to install the old afm's

in that case have the AFMs been installed correctly? do the nismo ones use a stock plug or do they need to be wired up like a Z32? this was a problem on a friends car the other day we had. installed Z32, selected VG30 option car idled, then died. turned out it was a wiring problem.

Nismo afm's are bolt ons

I dont think I did anything wrong ?

I just think that the display is locked out and its using the right option.

I am going to reinstall the old afm's and go from there :)

The engine won't run with the NISMO AFMs on the VG30 setting. You need to add a bit of fuel at idle.

ok.

Go in to the airflow menu select option 5 or the very bottom option.

Press back.

Now go back in to the airflow menu and if the option 5 is still highlighted then the menu is definitely not locked out.

It was my understanding if the airflow menu is locked you can't even get in there. :)

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
