maybe i missed something here...... let me get this straight........ your going have an accident.. and kindly ask the other person to say somebody else was driving your car ?

ok im only 22..... so im not very old or mature..... etc etc etc

but maybe some (keyword some) of you p platers shouldnt be driving these cars ???

if someone crashed into me and asked me to lie... it wouldnt be a hard choice id tell them to piss off... if they then told me i wouldnt get my car fixed unless i lied because there insurance is dodgy id still tell them to piss off and i'll see them in court.

maybe i misread and insurance fraud isnt the intention here :) if so i apologise, but jesus christ if you have to lie about your insurance you realy shouldnt be driving a skyline or bloody any car for that matter..

also this next bit is for the stupid ppl that still dont get it :( if you have an accident and you owe the other party something minor evan.. say $1000..

if you cant afford to pay it, $10 a week for the rest of your life isnt going to cut it...

not when you have a shiny new expensive skyline in your driveway ;)

Assets can be hidden very easily.

I don't encourage this at all, but I'm just trying to give another perspective.

cheers,

Greg

yeah your right but if you have an accident in your skyline..

its going to be pretty obvious you own a skyline :)

your sister gets $500?

can i be your receptionist? i type fast.

LOL no she doesn't shes only 13!! lol

She does get $100 a week for helping me sort all the items to be sent out, she loves it and it means I don't have to do all the pain in the ass jobs. For a 13 year old $100 a week is heaps. I make sure she saves it so she can buy a nice car for her 18th birthday.

Greg

LoL....let's hope I don't crash then.

Ok then ppl, what's the solution?

P Platers aren't going to stop driving cars over the limit, P platers are going to want insurance.

Please explain.

Also how often do insurance companies refuse to pay out in situations like this? I've never heard of it happening to someone I know before.

thats kinda like saying...

junkies arent going to stop taking drugs, so we might as well make them legal and easily accessible.

i dont mean p platers are like junkies btw.. was just the best analogy i could think of :D

Everyones opinion on this is going to be differant, as is the case with anything i guess.. but the FACTS are your illegaly driving the car, so the insurance company would be 100% correct if they decide to not pay you.

LoL @ the junkie analogy.

Hmmm I drive a high powered car...i'm as bad a junkie. LoL.

Well.....i want insurance and want a GTR! What should I do!

So far my little "post-accident plan" is the front runner.

Whoaaaa

I might have found a solution.

Was browsing the forums and stumbled on this thread:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...0entry1583579

In summation, you can get exemptions from the power to weight rule!!!!!!!!!!

Now if I were to get an exemption, I'm set. I'm happy, insurance company is happy. Yay!

I'm gonna ring Vicroads 2moro for the specifics........*jumps up and down*

Orrrrrrr

You could go out any buy everyone else in your family cars that are over power - weight limit then there is no other option in your "family"

Greg

LoL.

"Dad....I think you need an XR6 Turbo"

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
