Hey guys, i want to stick a serie 2 front bar on my series one R33, can it be done?

Surely there must be someone on here that has done it if its possible.

I was told u have to change the lights cos they arent as round as the bar, i know if i change the lights i have to change the bonnet but what about the bar?

I dont want series 2 lights but i want the bar.

Cheers in advance!

Look in forsale section, theres someone selling an 94 model 33, with a series 2 front end conversion.. Best to speak to him directly and ask him what has to be done..

But im sure there will be a lot of changing involved..

Edit: might be selling my front bar in a months time.. if you interested.. comes wit lip also.. but i will post that up, when i want to sell it..

yeh when I upgraded my front bar I wanted to stick my old front bar on my dads S1 R33... but after some research found out you needed to change the headlights, guards and bonnet.

I'm sure you could stick it on there without doing these things but it would stick outin places.

If your getting the series 2 front bar for cheap or free then I don't see anything wrong in sticking it on the series 1. it looks better, specially if you didn't have even the stock front bodykit to begin with.

Thanks guys, and liquid, i want the explosive kit thats why m asking, u know the kit u got on the car in your sig :(

I may have to get it modified to fit, where did u get your kit from Liquid? Please dont say Jetspeed!!

my series 1 has a series 2 front bar but I didn't do the conversion so I couldn't tell exactly what needs to be changed.

The S2 bar will fit but doesn't line up around the headlights. The light hang over the bar by about 20mm at the front and on the sides they sit in from the bar about the same.

I am not sure whether you need to change the reo bar, but you definately don't need to change lights and bonnet if you can live with the clearance issues around the lights.

Personally I reckon the S1 type M bars look better anyway. I will be looking at swapping mine when one comes up in the right colour, state and price (ie. probably never :P )

Umm, i've got a STOCK s2 frontbar on my s1 r33.

It lines up ok, thou the stock s1 headlights stickout abit. if i was going to do it right i would just grab the s2 headlights, bonnet, guards and frontbar to make it look nice

Far away mine looks ok upclose is a different story

    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
    • Did some FASTing ...got the impression that the actual part# was a moot point ; seems all of these hardlines for coolant are discontinued/NLA... like, I take it you're after the hardline that bolts onto to the manifold...that's NLA according to amayama & nengun .... ...just to clear up some confusion, they typically mounted the AAC valve to the intake manifold somewhere near a coolant passage, so the body of the valve heats up & holds it open when engine's up to temp - no coolant flows through the valve, it's a mechanical, thermal connection.
