OK so are there any takers for a in-house job? Probably not looking at this Sunday but more so the following Sunday 28/08/2005.

Free for all is 1 case of beer.... Bonus case to the owner of the premises (if they want to share, then they're very welcome to) - I personally don't drink at all, but it's fun watching a bunch of guys get drunk ;)

i take it that's one case each??

The whole point of this exercise is to save some $$$... Depending on the number of spectators there, there should be enough beer going around to make it good.

The o2 sensor thing is just a guess... I'm getting about 350km MAX out of a full tank of fuel at the moment.

There are some mixed emotions about what the cause is, some say it's the o2 sensor, others say its normal.

I guess it can't hurt... but if someone could bring a diagnostic cable to see - that would be cool (saves about $90 on the sensor)

Any takers on the offer yet?

If you do goto powerplay go when there is no traffic.. like no peak hour, as its bloody hard finding parking there :P.

Stan, I prolly wont be able to come Sunday, depends on my roster at work.

But we still ok for the dyno the day before?

I also have a consult cable and laptop (but battery is dead), so if you have a laptop with serial cable we can hook it up at the dyno.

Yeah we are good to go on the Dyno Day... I will bring my laptop as well. Although, I'm not too sure about the serial cable - could you please post a photo of it (I'm assuming it's the plug)?

And the Sunday as a prefferred meeting date I can't change... I work all 6 other days (I'll be taking next Sat off just for you :P)

We work too hard dammit.... 5:30pm on a Friday and I'm still working FARKIN!

EDIT:

Going home now and out for the night.... seriously guys, give it a think about allowing a bunch of guys over to do stuff to my car. Not to mention the state some of them will be in by the end of it. :P

I'll most probably be back on tomororw - hope to see some interest then!

ive got a driveway... but neighbours get pissed off easy......

my dads apartment has a massive garage and a few really long dead end streets nearby that we could shut off for a day :( (new development ya see)

My car needs a oil change soon too.....

Thats my input for a location.... whos coming?

d00dz, do I need any software to run that consult cable on the laptop?

yea..

Does your laptop have a serial port? (COM1 or COM2)? Because you need it!

I'm in... everyone else who is interested in either coming to help out or "spectate" or "entertain" please place your interest here now! :D

That's two birds with the one stone; a personal pit loaction and a private testing facility LOL No nothing "illegal"... not the SAU way I belive :D

Well I'm gonna be in for sure... got my oil from Powerplay Imports today courtesy of SW20-GT - Elf Oil as suggested :)

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
