Hi Guys,

After picking up an original R33 GTR rear wing (series 1 if it matters) I wanted to adjust the position of the blade using the adjusment bolts on either side. I removed the end plates using the hex head bolts on both sides only to find the following pattern on the heads of the screws/bolts that you use to adjust the blade angle (see attachment).......

As my dodgy drawing indicates it is almost a spline shape with a raised circular bit in the middle (black shapes are the raised sections of the screw head).....now I have various spline shaped screwdriver attachments that would fit except for the fact that the raised circular bit in the middle stops the tool engaging.

Does anyone know if I need a special tool that maybe came with the GTR toolkit or can you buy a tool at a hardware store that would fit (ie its a std tool pattern)?? Any help would be much apprieciated :D

Hey geoff,

cheers for the info mate but I also want to remove the blade for some maintainance so I'm guessing I have to remove all the bolts/screws right?

I guess my question is can I walk into a Bunnings or Repco and buy a tool off the shelf that will fit those two screws/bolts on the left of your piccie?

I haven't played with my wing, but from your diagram, looks like a Torx tamper proof bit. Same one used on the steering wheel. T50 is the size of the one on the steering wheel. I picked up a kit of Torx tamperproof alan key things from Dick Smitch i think for about $16.

Thanks for all your replies guys ;)

At least I now know what to ask for instead of "I need a tool with a spline shaped end with a hole in it....' dont think I would've gotten very far with that one!!!

To those that offered a lend of their Torx tool, cheers but I better buy one of my own as I like to tamper with my toys :D

I have them from my Apple Technician days.

I use a torx-8 to get into the PowerBook - and the mighty 'Mac Cracker' torx-12 with a 30cm shank to open Mac Plus' - to turn them into fish-tanks, or other more useful things :P

Single tools should be $10 - $12 a pop.

Ant, I have the tool, kincrome sell them (Part# 05020 - Tamperproof Torx Set, about $27 retail.)

You are welcome to borrow mine if don't want to buy a set.

Ant - I can get the above for you for $13.77 including GST. let me know if your interested.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
