I am getting very sick of getting eggs thrown at my car... I just got hit again the other day - third time this year and I have had enough. Two have hit the side of the car putting really trendy egg marks down the side of it, the other hitting the front windscreen. I was so angry as it wasn't just me in the car, but my wife and baby on our way home late at night... The cops weren't overly helpful, but I suppose not much they can do.

I thought of making up some stickers that can be added to each time I get hit (trying to be a little positive about the whole ordeal). Does anyone want one (or multiple).

Is this while you've been driving? Or parked in the driveway at home?

I've been egged once (and I know who the person is) and I was lucky that the dipshit who did it wasn't very smart and egged the car one cold night when it was all dewey. There for, the egg did not harm the paint, not stick to it to damage it. We took it straight to the carwash at 2am in the morning to get it all off.

I got egged twice, fist time I didn't know who it is, but on the second time we were having a BBQ and i recognise the exhauste note. Anyway nothing a paintball gun with about 50 frozen paintballs can't fix. This is what I call artificial hail damage.

If you know the right people semi automatic wepons are still avaliable :D

I dont think some of these people think, as in I dont think they realise the egg actually stuffs the paint, and the shell can scratch. They just think of it as an annoyance, not so much damage. If they did some might not do it. Not an excuse but hey.

Each time was when driving in different locations. The first time I parked around the corner and went looking thru the school if I could find the bastards. Other two were with wife and kid in the car while driving. The better half didn't want me to turn around incase they threw more.

The egg chell actually scratches the paint to the point of leaving bare metal. There is only a certain amount buffing will do. The first egg mark has now started to show some slight rust even though I washed it off immediately and applied some clear coat when it was dry (didn't have any touch up paint).

I think if it happens again I will go insane... haha

May even take on some of your suggestions

I had strawberry thick shake thrown on my black skyline at work. Right in front of my face the poor kid tripped twice getting away... I think he may have even broken his nose.... (blood on the path)

He learnt his lesson....

Serrious im slow and couldnt keep up, he seriouslly triped twice face planting the concrete walk way..... Was so funny i stopped chasing him and pi$$ed myself laughing.... Then drove the car run to the dock and hit it with the fire hose and all washed away with no damage at all...

Best thing for paint work, that got egg, to stop it dead in it tracks is apply wd40 to the affected area, as this slows down the oxidisation of the paint by choking it of oxygen and allowing time for you to cut polish or kick it in, well what ever float your boat at the time, LOL. Alot of ppls don't understand how frustated owners can get after being egged, and I know sometime I get all work up and do some dumb shit but I never regret kicking the crap out of the little f**ker.haha.

    • The trigger kit I have is similar to the one in the link below. While going through Facebook, I saw someone else mention a similar issue, and I’m starting to think this could be related to the crank gear itself. I understand these parts are CNC machined, but maybe some earlier versions or individual pieces might have slight inconsistencies—it just doesn’t look right in my case. https://www.facebook.com/share/16an8evZd9/?mibextid=wwXIfr I originally installed the crank gear using the thin OEM washer, but as shown in the attached photo, the timing belt walks very close to the edge. When I tried using a Nitto washer—which is thicker—it actually made the issue worse. The belt walks about 1mm off the front edge, which raises more concern about alignment.   I’ve gone through the full process of elimination:   The tensioner pulley and bolt are brand new and installed correctly. The bolt isn’t bent and is oriented properly. The back of the tensioner and the idler pulley are clean and seated correctly. The idler sits slightly more forward, which I understand is due to its design. I’ve experimented with both tight and loose belt tension, but it makes no difference. As soon as the engine runs, the belt immediately walks forward again—even if I reset it beforehand.     At this point, I’m considering replacing the crank gear with your Race Version 1 (12-tooth), but before purchasing, I wanted to ask:   Are you aware of any alignment issues when using this gear? Would this gear help keep the belt aligned correctly, or could the walking still occur? Does it work with a standard missing-tooth crank and rear washer? Is there any specific crank setup or install procedure required?     For reference, I’m not using a front washer, as the PRP crank gear seems to replace the need for one.   Looking forward to your advice.
    • Yep, looks that way. Never driven an E30 or R31 so I can only imagine
    • Yuh, My new R34 box is sitting on the workshop floor (in its large shipping box, which is a nice thing on its own), along with a front plate to convert to push clutch. There was no way I was interested in rebuilding my existing one. Was only partly interested in the risk of buying a used one. But, if you want a 2nd hander, I can point you to one in/near Melbourne at least. @Komdotkom has one that should be in good enough condition to be usable. I don't think it's in a for sale thread, you'd have to message him. @redzedhas one that definitely needs a rebuild.
    • I used to love going to Amaroo to watch the HQ series go for broke (eventually stopped due to lack of spare parts) and also the Porsche series.  It was so cool to back your car up to nearly the edge of the viewing barrier and party with your friends, having a bbq and alcoholic/non drinks. It was such a family/mates atmosphere
