I'm Coming To Perth.. My (tko's) R32 Is Coming Too

Recommended Posts

I'm *finally* leaving Japan after 5 long years and will come back to Perth... don't say it! I know Japan is really cool etc, etc, etc, but when you gotta go, you gotta go (no I'm not running from the J-cops! )

I remember meeting Nizmo and others at Little creatures about 1.5 years ago, so I'd really like to meet up with the SAUWA guys again.

I've actually sold the wine red R32 to Trent at TKO (he just happens to be my little bruvvah ) so the R32 will become a demo car for TKO! I on the other hand had to make do with an S13 Silvia... I know, I know, talk about 'down-grading'! But anyway, I've got some plans for the S13.

Here are some pics of the R32, it's almost ready to get shipped out of Japan:

And the Silvia :)

My wife is coming too (in December) so I hope some of the SAUWA chicks can teach her how to drive a manual! hahaha

@ tigeryas: I'm sure I can help you out with some Japanese cussing etc...

@ Gts_evilution: I tried to drift *myself* only once, and that was in a friends R32 here in Kobe... as for teaching drifting, maybe you could teach me!

@ miss_petepie: How does 7am on the 22nd Sept at Perth International sound?

You betcha!

... are you implying Perth is boring??? Well we'll have to make it more exciting then won't we :)

Might actually make an appearance at a SAUWA event, just for you rezz :)

adrian :)

Yeah come along!

Maybe when our cars land it might be better for a cruise? Trent and myself will want to 'christen' our cars in style with a big convoy of Skylines down on the South Perth foreshore... eeerr... for sure...

Dont get caught in customs Rezz - declare your YEN!

On this Aussie show 'Border Security' this english teacher from Japan didnt declare his cash and he acted like he didnt know how much Yen his cash converted to.... and it was something like $30 000 AUD - what a dumb arse.

and Welcome back

I think a Cruise is in order for Rezz return what you say people? maybe a sunday one again with a BBQ at the end

Haha bbq? we can get Rezz to cook up some teriyaki chicken, tempura, sushi, etc etc... i'm sure you learnt all of that as well as your extensive vocabulary in japanese profanity...

and when he teaches you drift it's all gonna be in japanese too...

@ Sneeza: No worries bud because I haven't got any money!

@ totoro: I look forward to meeting you (and your car) too... might have to ask you about the Japanese community in Perth too... if there is one? My wife will obviously want to meet some local Japanese for a bit of support.

@ tigeryas: I can't cook man... maybe Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki (Osaka stylez) but thats about it! And my spoken Japanese is crap too!

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
