  • 2 weeks later...

G'day Andrew....

I'm moving back to Adelaide shortly, and would love to take the drive in the GT-R to Vic and PI sometime later in the year, or early new year....

is there anything coming up (SAU) that would be worth putting in the diary?

cheers!

Ben

Hey Ben - pretty much after Oct 23 (Maserati Dat @ Sandown) the racing calander comes to an end for the year and nothing much is on until the new season starts Feb 2006.

Be great to see your car down here though one day!

Ben,

Vic seems to run a little different to NSW. Winton has a practise day most Fridays and Calder most Wed but none of us really attended them because Calders practise days have dumb requirements (full race suit etc) and Winton is miles away.

Sandown doesnt have any practise days available and Phillip Island only has them Available on the Saturday of these PIARC weekends of which this is the last one for the year.

As a rule track days for us revolved around WRX Club sprints - which do offer "driver training - which is a non timed session with an instructor" or we tend to also attend PIARC as its the best track in Oz and Merserati Club events (which there is only 2 a year @ Sandown).

So really as I mentioned the Vic GTR's will be out:

Sept 24/25 for PIARC @ Phillip Island

Oct 8th for WRX Club @ Calder

Oct 23rd for Maserati @ Sandown

And that will be it until Feb next year I expect.

Oh - except for DECA Shepparton on Sat Novemeber 19th - but thats a motokhana event.

Cheers

    • Oh please, when has anybody really been "done" when they say that? 😂
    • The part where you claim the car "is done" means you won't...

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
