had to laugh at how public transport fares increased by over 350% in one of the graphs, what else would you expect from a oil company?

all I know is that when I first started driving, petrol was around 70-80c a litre, now it's somewhere between $1.3-1.4, this over 4 years. I somehow doubt public transport prices increased by something near 80% in under 4 years. shows how you can manipulate any statistic to your advantage.

if this is designed to make me happy about paying $1.4 a litre, then it didn't work.

In real terms (after allowing for inflation), the price excluding tax has significantly decreased.

but when the tax we pay for petrol is significantly more than the cost of the fuel itself is when we know teh system is farked...

I heard on the radio that for every 10 cents the petrol price goes up the government pockets 10 million a year in fuel tax.

And where does this 10 million a year go to???? No one knows
