The press in trim around the rear windscreen of my 32 sedan has dried out, hardened and shrunk.

It's now too short to fit around the corner of the screen.

The outside edge of the rear windscreen rubber has also started to peel off.

This doesn't make the windscreen leak but it looks ugly.

I think it needs a new slightly wider push in moulding trim that will completely cover the rubber.

I've seen this happen to other 32s.

What have you guys done to fix it?

I tried to fix mine but it didn't really improve things. Apparently Windscreens O'brien have reseated a few R32 windscreens and used a generic seal. IIRC, cowie165 and Paul/Stace from Dirt used Obrien and I think it was about $170.

No ideas exactly which installer they used though, or which generic trim was used. Perhaps they will comment.

Don't bother with the OEM Nissan. If its the same as the GT-R, your looking at about $500 at trade prices.

Geez $500 I think $170 seems a bit steep.

I noticed this problem starting when I was buying the car.

The guy at the yard said they had had some repaired using a commodore moulding but he wasn't sure what model.

It was barely noticeable then but it sure is ugly now.

I'd say you could only fix the problem by pulling out the window and replacing the rubber. it would be hard to try fit it without removing the glass hence the $170 price tag. ive done the same thing on cars before and your best getting it done by someone who knows what they're doing and are not rough and will bust your window.

You might be right about it being best to use a new rubber but the old one doesn't leak so I was hoping there is a suitable moulding that will press into the original groove in the rubber.

I'll take it down to the local O'briens Glass place and see if they have any ideas.

Mine's doing exact same thing. I PM'd paul/stace a while ago and he was pretty sure they used a generic rubber from a vr/vs commodore. I'm thinking i'll be going this route as the genuine one from nissan is wayyy to pricey!

From memory it was the same seal used on late model commodores

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
