couldnt find these weights on wheels today - saw mag, saw tyre, saw shockies, saw metal rods, saw springs, saw cobwebs, saw little plate on mag with 10/10/10 on it - but that was about it :(

haha yes it was meant to be subtle :( (and yes i do know the meaning of the S word) haha

Gee whiz old man - don't act like I'm the pain in the ass that I am - surely you knew that when you sold me a car?

Anyways, question is this: there is a shitload of piping on the GTR; balance pipes between the turbs, etc, etc. Makes working on the car tricky & ppl tell me that it is mainly for emission control - can you tell me what can go & what needs to stay in order for the engine to run properly?

Ahhh , sometimes it's so hard ....

Those little 10/10/10 plates means ypu have 30gms of weights on that wheel.

I did a THOROUGH detail of the inside after that i lost all motorvation, looked for these thingies on wheels but couldnt find them - not that i had a clue what i was looking for in the first place - so i'll do the rest of the cleaning in bits n piece thru out the week - might even take train to work so car stays nice n clean once its done

micko im not sure which hoses u can remove in a GTR but i did a cleanout of my engine bay over the last 6 weeks and its made a big difference to appearance and i can see the oil filter now too! not to mention changing the spark plugs is no longer the 30min job it used to be with all the crap over the cams

Sorry Micko , missed the :( on the end , wasn't meant to sound like you are the pain in the arse.Hehehehe

Balance pipes ??

A lot of the pipes are oil and water lines that run between the terbs and are essential for terb wellbeing.

Not much emission stuff around there ??

Don't know who told you that and YES , they are a pain to work on. That's why I'm getting the engine pulled ( yes , some thing else I pull as well Niz:D ) to do the terb swap .

cheers

Ken

    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
    • Very hard to make out what you mean, is it the squarish hole with redline shockproof (probably) under it? Is that pic from on top of the engine with the firewall to the left of pic and engine to the right? Either way, spray the area liberally with degreaser and try again, maybe circle the part you are worried about
    • Hey all, Noticed I have a hole on top of which im guessing is my transfer case/gearbox. I can see it from the middle of my firewall looking down. S1 R33 gtr Any advice or can pinpoint what this is/caused this?
    • Looks like you were right on the T pattern! I did that and it's finally fixed! Thanks a bunch.
