well nizy i reckons it wont be nice if it happen that the only place he finds you is on the rear view mirror, i dont care what it is, but i sure dont like being in his rear view mirror. I did some research after i heard this, and their are alot of independent guys out their that say, the xr6t has been under powered before release, while when ford tested it, they did out puts of upto 800kw. Now that is heaps for a ford

that would be a very exceptional XR6T.

Like VERY exceptional. I think he is probably yanking your chain.

the xr6t is not a particularly easy car to make really fast - because it has such a large displacement. to produce that sort of time, you're looking at 800+ ps, which would require a big turbo and some serious internal work.

the catch is, that because he throw is so long for each cylinder, he'd struggle to find rods that would put up with the sort of hammering that a high outpurt turbo would put an engine under at very high boost.

so, I call b/s on the 10 second XR6T.

Nobel what i dont understand is if your flying the flag for Ford so high .... then get dad to buy you one :P ..... we are really trying to care .... but as this is a Nissans forum we really dont give a phuck.

i know my car aint the fastest on the planet .... but it still kicks enough male butt that im more than happy :) not too mention its a Nissan!

i just dont get some people! What does he want us to do .... "a friend of a friend who knows some guy at the other side of the country may have a 10sec XR6T" ...... so? want us to worship the ground you walk on ..... or sell all our cars for Fords now :P ... you are trying to achieve what??

zanda, well i did take it all with a pinch of salt, so i did my research and here is what i found...

240kW at 5250rpm and 450Nm from 2000-4500rpm

6psi turbo pressure

that is what its set to as the standard, and the compression ratio is 8.7:1. Being a 4 L engine it has alot more potential. I just wonder what ford got out of it before it reached danger zone.

capa http://www.capa.com.au/xr6.htm has already released kits that boost it to 350kw and they are working on a 380kw which they think they can achieve no sweat.

I also heard from a ford guy that the trubo can be set as high as 32psi, but i still got to verify that.

There is alot of work happening on it, heaps of people in the east are trying things out on it.

I am just waiting to see if those numbers are true.

I was just sharing some news i heard, after all this is a car forum, and the filter doesnt seem to be set to pick out holden and ford and Maybe you have missed it all this time.

NO I DONT SUPPORT FORD, to me they just stupidly designed, the fools add weight then they think, oh shit its laggin so more fuel ahh thats better.

I hope that settles your misery nizmo, i suggest you look into something more entertaining if this bores you so much.

Gad daaaaaaaiyum some people

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
