pretty sure thats only if the accident results in fatalities - weird I know

dunno it was just one of those scare stories they told us at snr first aid

if theres an accident and you dont render assistance and anything bad happens its your ass doublly if your a first aider

the police said there was no camera at that intersection and seeing as no witnesses stopped and we only have a partial plate the police are considering following it up as a waste of time.that is what they said and that is why i hate the police. we have a good description of the car and a brand new partial plate, it wouldnt be hard to find him but obviously too hard for them

*sigh* protecting the nation my arse. Recently i got fined for parking illegally, went in for 2 mins, came out and the bloody wanker summoned me. He said he didn't give a damn cause all the cars are obstructing the flow of traffic, mine was the last in line so of course first to get summoned, so i drove off, took a drive around, and guess what, only my car and the car infront, a s15 got fined, the rest were untouched. And the rest of the cars were the normal ol holdens and stuff. I swear they are after the imported cars, and being new to the country, i didn't want to kick a big fuss at the bloody police station. So thus, i paid the fine myself. Bloody arseholes. How the hell do you believe the nation to trust them when all the bloody biased bungholes are doing this kinda shit? So what if i drive a skyline, does that mean i'm the only person at fault? Hate the bloody police here man.

Oh wells, kermit, i'll keep a look out for a white virata, but i'm guessing he polly removed his decals so as to not get spotted. Do you have the partial plate? care to share? so that if i do see a white one with a plate near that, i'll copy down the whole plate and let u have a shot at it. =)

Cheers!

Could be worth putting a complaint in to the ombudsman?

Good police force/laws we've got here. You've got a damaged car and some evidence but they won't chase it up because it's too hard, yet they want laws so that anyone can report 'hoon' behaviour?

Unbelievable. No wonder there is a low respect for authority amongst the public.

So champ let me get this straight

your wife was involeved in a hit and run and the police wont do any thing

does this mean he has to KILL some one before they do any thing

cant help but think if your wife was in the 4x4 and the W(*&ker in the nissan would they look 4 him then

and next if the police dont do anything does this mean it will happen more

(just drive away who cares no one will do any thing)

sounds like a today tonight story or email 7 sunries and talk 2 koshy

all bs aside kermit sorry to hear that and hope family 4get and you get your car fixed

james

the plate was a brand new plate. started as 1C** ***. cannot be many of them on mid 90's vitaras living north of the river that are soft top and sporting a massive yellow scrape down the side , can there?

sorry i did not mention before. when ever the missus starts thinking about it she gets all mad and i run for cover. things have been stressful lately

kermit

alritey! will keep my eye out! Anyway, hope ur wife gets over it soon, i kinda understand how bad it is, cause i've been in a hit and run before (20k repairs and 8K extra dep over the standard asking rate due to the heavy damage).

just a though, i heard once ages ago some guy went on i think it was 96fm, after some guy stole his car and they put him on air and he req a song haha, go on the radio req a song and just say a few quick words, more ppl listen to the radio then go on sauwa... i would hahaha request somethin good to. whitesnake or sumthin ahhaha

I feel for you dude, that really sucks, & I agree with what's been said about our protecting the streets cops over here. Now someone tell me how hard this will be to get going, or actually find out about:

Have a database that has every detail about the car available to police.

Search for suziki vitara's, and it will bring up a list of all of them.

At first narrow it down to the closest to the incident, in this case northern suburbs.

You have the beginning of the plate being 1C, not many will have that, and in this case should make it relatively easy.

Pay a visit to the owners of these cars & see what's happening.

Vote for me for police commish okay everyone???

Wonder if it would be too hard to track the car if someone got killed? or if the minister for police's wife was driving the car?

it really does sound like a today tonight special, but then they would probably turn the story around to something along the lines of "car hoon gets just deserts"

I hate today tonight

If nothing else, you could try giving your local MP a phone call, that might stir things up a bit...

if the number plate started with 1-C something there cant be thaat many out there, C-something-something plates only came out relatively recently, so should help you in narrowing it down even moreso.

agree with Cam, something to complain to the ombudsman... hopefully he wont be so biased / actually gives a fcuk

go to the licensing centres around and ask if they have given out any 1C number platyes yet - that can narrow it down

my aunty only just got 1BYL number plates so there cant be many 1C's around

(there surename is BYL - how cool is that standard number plates with ur surname)

hope u get the insurance payout and get the fu(k@ that hit ur wife

Yeh, I have 1CBU*** that I got about a month ago....so there would be around 50,000 1C plates. but that said, there would only be a few white Vitaras of that year that have new plates....maybe 100 tops, then the amount of them that live north wouldn't be that much etc

Good luck with it :)

    • Drilled the rubber out on a slow speed and it didn't catch much at all. Probably only half a dozen holes was enough to shred the rubber and it dropped off easily leaving the inner sleeve behind. Will tackle that later
    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
