I have a 1993 R32 GTS-t with the rb20det and has the following mods. Full 3inch exhaust, pod, FMIC, 040 fuel pump, R33 GCG stage 2 hiflow turbo (rate at 450hp) apparntly people have run them on 20psi so thats the plan with it. I am about to get some r33 gtr injector, resistor, z32 AFM and then i am going to get the standard computer tuned at a Hyperdrive (place in perth that do a lot of standard ecu tuning).

My question is am i about to waste around 2k getting the injector AFM and tune, as my car will still be very slow? i am planning for 13's and 300hp at the wheels at least. I just don't want to spend all this money and get disapointed.

cheers for any input and help

Anton

13's should be easy with all that hardware. however leave the auto as it is and it wont last long at all. If you plan to keep it auto then minimum a tranny cooler should be installed. Dont have to go aftermarket, a external r33 tranny cooler should do the trick.

let me know how you go, i too have a auto r32 and hoping i can get high 13's with just a warlbro 255 fuel pump, R34 factory side mount interooler, 3 inch dump and front pipe, 3 inch cat, boost up to 0.9 bar on stock turbo and tuning with a safc2. i already have the cat back exhaust and cat and air pod.

ok cool may give that a go then new supercheap store has just opened near me so ill see what they have. I was also thinking a shift kit like one of the MV or whatever it is called. But would this cause a problem with traction on gear changes. Apparntly shift kits are good for the box as they allow better oil flow

just wondering with the oil cooler with i just bypass the oil cooler that goes into the radiator (haven't looked just gguessing that is where it goes) and then just use trans cooler hose (rubber) to the new cooler.

Also lastly what sort of size would be best? i have a gtr front bar with a front mount so ill have to put it in the side vents of it

i have brought all the parts i need now, injectors, AFM, resitor i am just wondering am i gona have traction problems at hi revs and still the crap take of speed.

Off the line my car is a slug from standing start, its gona kill my quarter mile times, i thought of getting shift kit but i figure its not gona make a difference for take off and traction may be bad enough at gearchanges anyway.

ANyone else have a fairly quick auto and can give me some advice? i dont want ot waste 1k on tune and still have a slow car

PM Abo Bob, he has an Auto R34 GTT which is regularly raced at the track and drag racing meets, and has made the suitable upgraded to his Automatic gearbox to perfect quite well at both :D

yeah stall will be exspensive thought.

This is the detail for the r33 going to have a look today1995, done 138K but engine was rebuilt at 100k to fit the arias

pistons,RB25DET (unsure of mods previous owner insisted the pistons are Arias forged)

Apexi airflow

Cusco Struts

HKS SSQ BOV

BLITZ Boost controller

Radiator just serviced and channell cleaned

HKS Heavy duty 3 puk clutch

New hoses and water pump

Interior:

Nismo dash unit

HKS boost guage

Quik Shifter

Internal blitz boost controller unit

pivot turbo timer

Exterior:

White

GTR skirts

GTR rear spoiler

GT400R front bar

3 inch blitz exhaust with chrome cannon back

5 spoke 17" near new tyres

Sunroof

I don't like the front bar but supose i can sort that out. Overall i prefere the look of my car but yeah the fact its is manual and a 2.5litre may just make it better. Unless i go see it and the interior and outside is poor conidtion ill just keep mine and go head with tune

Sounds good.

Those 400R bars have never been my thing.. They look a little out there for my liking.

I personally think there's nothing better to look at than a non-kitted R33 slightly lowered sitting on a set of deep dish rims.

They look fat..

Start throwing on the body kits I think it tends to ruin them..

yeah i don't like it at all but i could change that easy enough problay sell it and get standard or gtr bar but i don't like chances of gettting a gtr bar for it.

Does sound ok though but could be a dodge rebuild and yeah gona have to get another turbo again and injector and all that will see. Cheers for the resistor cubes, i sent a pm but i don't think it worked came up with error. where would you recomend to fit it? its bigger and more shiny than expected.

Depends how much wire you have available.

I think the best position is where it fits up on the R30's.

Behind the left strut tower right next to the loom.

You could find somewhere else but its best to keep it away from water.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me

    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
