1997 stagea rb25det auto - $1150

1997 stagea with rb26 and manual $1200

thats from just cars for 22 year old, very good driving record, and 60% no claims.

couldnt believe its only $50 more for a rb26, just shows they dont have a clue  :D

note: both qoutes the car was valued at $20K

yours is RB27 isnt it?? :D

Would they not let u insure it for anymore than $20K or is that all u wanted to insure it for?

I'd try a couple more times to try and get a good quote, as that seems fairly high. For example I am 22, 40% NCB, and drive an R33 GTR with a few mods, and im only paying $1700! Car is insured for $40,000.

I am in the country, and i have a clean record, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe try to get a higher no claims bonus? I joined just cars with 3rd party only (on my old r33 gtst) for 2 years, and then upgraded to comprehensive, and they convert over the NCB from third party to comprehensive.

yer thats all i said to insure it for, as i was in a hurry to get cover and i planned on taking it in for evaluation at a later date, but its getting abit extreme with the big single turbo and shit to pass as a stock engine :D

but i think you'd find the premium a little higher than $2400 a year.

seriously.

nah not neccessarily, depends on quite a few things. there a limited use policies, for example, which can make the premium much cheaper too....

Or it could be BS :D

Ahhh thats cool that Just Cars will do evaluations, I never knew that :)

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
