Denver described this to me last night on the phone, he said there was actually very little damage to the car. I think he might have been in it at the time.

He was also walking along the tyre wall when the Silvia hit later on. Which he said was "f'in wrecked!" So he nearly came a cropper twice through no fault of his own.

Maybe someone has a contract out on him.

Funny you say that, i spoke to someone yesterday that said theyve never been to an event at collie when theres not been an accident of some kind.

Re: Silvia, yeah apparently it went head on into a tyre wall, it was described to me as a write off.

Red17

Do you have any details of the Sylvia ???

Hope it's only your pride thats dented:D

Mainly, theres a slight bend at the botton of the rear 1/4 between the bumper and the wheel arch, nothing huge, took a few minutes to spot it, and wasn't a quick enough slide to do any real damage..

basically he got the arse out on a corner, didn't wind on the correction quite in time and the atessa kicked in and shot us into the dirt, and just slid sideways into the ditch, another 2 meters and we would have stopped before the wash away, having to both bail out the passenger door was a bit of a laugh, as was the car beaing nearly a perfect 10cm away from the other side of the ditch and a butt load of damage along its entire length..

Gav lost pride, i lost a bag of twisties as we had the windows down and got covered in dust, and i was munching away during the sighting laps, sighting usually refers to the track, not the infield..

as for the silvia, that was a massive hit, where he binned it is comming out of a sweeping right hander, directly after a tight left hair pin, got it sideways in the sweeper, over corrected and dropped a wheel into the dirt on the return swing and lined up the haul pack tyre stack, that i was about to walk on, the control tower made for a good place to hold onto as he nailed the tyres at around 100k's..

left side of the car took most of the hit, but the whole front end was caved in, but the left rail has moved along the entire length of the car by looks, roof appeared to have a slight ripple in it, and the door wasn't lining up like its meant to..

driver walked away,i think he banged his head on something during the impact but was otherwise fine, and offers for parts came in quicker than an american fighter plane over shooting a runway..

as for me, im taking out some life insurance, and mourning the loss of my twisties..

ps, nearly every time ive been to collie in the past year nearly every time someone bins it, be it a small binning, or a big one, most just slight stacks which result in a small amount of pannel bending, the track is fantastic, but im looking forward to when they get some more sand down on the run offs, clay/mud doesn't slow anything down in a hurry..

strange... the GTR in the ditch covered in dust and it still looks beautiful!!!

and did you see the 300ZX thats just covered in dust inside and out!, whats the story there?

The inside of the R was coated to, i can assure you of that, as for the zed, that franz, nearly every time hes been to collie he manages to loose it at the same point and coat the outside, and inside of the car in dust, he even said on sat he was going to leave the windows up for fear of it happening again, one time he didn't put them up he comes off, all on video to!

We should all lower the flag to half-mast tommorow and remember the twisties, "less we forget".

XRW,

Were you guys actually racing or just doing lap times? It looks like fun, but I might save up some money for repairs before I come down.

See'ya:burnout:

Sorry for the late reply - been away from the office.

Yer - bloody close call. About $700 worth of damage to the rear lower panel with me stripping bumper, lights, support etc.

Me stupid fault - having probs with the HICAS (aftermarket boss kit) so tried disconnecting HICAS computer. With no power steering and rear end wobbling, didn't catch it in time.

Only pride dented - actually expected to wear a lot more sh1t from egroups! - Guess I'm not alone in spinning off (although to do it on a sighter lap must be a record!)

Anyway - apart from an expensive lesson I've fallen in love over again. In fact I think I will name my next daughter ATTESSA!! Damn I love the feeling when the torque split gauge rips over to 50% after coming out of the corner hard!

Definately need some suspension mods 'tho.

    • There’s a possibility that Infinity G35x front hubs may be compatible, but it depends on the exact fitment. Sometimes, parts like hub and bearing assemblies from different models can work if the bolt patterns, bearing sizes, and axle specifications match, but the G35x hubs typically have a different design. It's worth checking detailed specs (like the number of bolt holes, size of the axle shaft, and bearing diameter) to compare, as Rock Auto does list some parts that cross over across different models. If you're going for a pre-pressed hub and bearing unit, that could be a good option. These units are usually easier to install, as the bearing and hub come pre-assembled, but you’ll still need to verify fitment, especially the outer diameter of the hub and bearing dimensions.
