Hey everyone, it's nice to have joined your forum.

As the topic say's i am keen to purchase an R33 GST-T Series II in the very near future and just thought id ask a few basic questions since you guys drive this sort of car.

Also im not some red p plater who is 17 and is having mummy and daddy buy this for him :( if only i was that lucky, im 21 and have yet to lose a point on my licence ( thought id state this coz i know what it's like having some noob come onto a forum and say yeah bro im getting a skyline and then you find out they dont even have their licence yet )

Just wondering if there is anything i should look out for while looking for a Skyline to buy? im assuming check for oil leaks and shaft play in the turbo etc? ive heard cigarette burns are common with imports but that's the least of my worries.

Any common problems with Series II GTS-T's?

And finally any hassles from police? I drive sensibly and dont plan to put 19 inch chromes on it so i should be fine but just thought id ask if you guys have minded your own business and had run-ins with the law.

Thanks guys and quite possibly some girls too B)

p.s i also apoligise if my answer could have been answered with a search

Well, i suppose the most obvious would be not to form an opinion based on the odometer reading. they're almost all wound back. cig burns arent that common, my S2 doesnt have any - only a tiny 1cm rip in the driver side seat.

you shouldnt have any hassles from cops either.

Thank's for all the help guys.

Actually Dezz my first choice was an S14a actually but due to the fact that back seat passengers are almost non-existent or would whinge alot and that insurance for me would be a good $1000-1500 cheaper on a Skyline than with a 200sx, ive opted to go for a S2 GTS-T.

They just seem more practical for me in my current situation. Last time i sat in the back of a skyline i had plenty of leg room unlike my friends bro in the backseat of my friends 180sx, he was so squashed :P

Oh and like the pic of the ladies :(, well same chick x 4 but either way very pleasant on the eyes :)

when i sat in the back of an R33 i had neck pains lol

lol Ive only been in Skyline's briefly, 1 R33 GTS-T and 1 R33 GTR with the same owner at different times ( only went around the block pretty much). All i can say is that 1 time he launched that GTR ive never felt so many g forces :P more than any 180sx or HSV ive been in.

My skyline is my daily driver too, never get any hassle from the cops, helps that its stock as can be, no kits or wings etc, even out cruising I rarely get a 2nd look from them.

That's comforting to know.

Luckily im not on my P's either.

My dad said he saw a police woman give this 180sx driver dirty looks ( he was on his P's ) and the poor guy done nothing wrong lol I've seen it before also.

it was my idea kind of, but everyone else was eligible for 1...they took em off to fix how they work

im about 5ft 10...i think the problem is i was in the middle seat in the back, which is raised a fair bit...and i had to like squash my neck to stop my head hittin the rear window/roof.

lol yeah Dezz i think the back is more designed for 2 people lol no way id sit in the middle  didnt even think there was a seatbelt for the middle?

Thanks for the extra tips and web links also!

true mate, i wouldnt sit there by choice

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
