Hi guys,

Think what you like - I build model cars/planes/etc. when I have spare time and have found a few rare kits for sale for cheap in Japan.

If you have a Yahoo ID and might be able to help me have them shipped to Sydney, please reply or PM. I can direct deposit some funds for bidding but would prefer to handover some cash in Sydney area.

Thanks guys, a shot in the dark, I'll see how I go

Mark

And I know Zac will buy bits from Yahoo but his service fee is nearly $40 per purchase - the bids I'm looking at are only around Y2-3,000 plus post so it's not worth using Slidewize. If you're in Sydney I'll happily provide some liquid refreshment to say thanks for your help. Cheers.

rinkya is your friend for models/cels/figurines.

although, most models and stuff can be mailed, let me know what you want (ie yahoo id, preferably one that hasn't gone through a translator) and I'll give you an estimate to have it mailed to you.

I can see where you are coming from - but whether it's a $1000 car part, or a $10 model - the time invested (bidding, dealing with the seller, the deliveryman and then the hassle of the post office) - is the same. I can't see how it would possibly be cheaper doing it from sydney.

anyway, good luck finding someone (I know there are some people who charge below $40)

Yeah that is around the fee I ask and the reason is that if you run purely off a % you end up buying cup holders, magazines etc and spending ages organising stuff for $10... not really worth it :(

That said though if you are getting a few models off the same person/shop I might be able to do them at the same time and charge less commission.

Anyway no middle man here :P

try http://www.f1kits.com/ they specialise in buying model etc of yahoo. i think they may be cheaper for that kind of stuff.

looking at that guys fees minimum fee is 2000 yen which quickly jumps up once the item is over 10k yen...

you are paying for a middle man there plus you need to leave a deposit. I buy and send the item before asking for cash.

bleh ppl wanna pay more go right ahead.

yeah i have bought a few bits of jeff (f1kits), but just from stock he had, not from yahoo. I just posted up his link as i know he started out just selling models from yahoo.

Streeter, i wasn't trying to step on your toes mate, i was just posting up the link as i know he buys and sells models. personally i agree with what you said earlier. That it's not really economical to buy small cheap stuff from yahoo as it's just as much effort for the buyer to buy a 1000yen model as it is to buy a 70000yen power FC, yet people don't want to pay the same fee for both. I think this is why a lot of agents wont even sell small cheap stuff anymore as no one wants to pay. Which is a shame as for some hard to get stuff it's the only way. Good luck with the work mate. I may just need your service some time :(

Hi Streeter, sorry mate I must have totally missed your post :)

I'll shoot a PM your way next time I see this kit and might grab a few to make it worth our mutual while.

Cheers bud!

If the item's cheap and it requires little effort, I'll do it for $15, as long as you pay for all expenses incurred (ie internal postage, international postage, yahoo fees etc). Send me the Yahoo ID's of the stuff and I'll see if its feasible.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
