R34 & R33

Hi All

I'm new in this forum & drive the A31 with R33 Rb25det.

I heard Rb25det came out with R33 & R34. Is it tru if yes, What is the dirrerent

in term of the engine performance.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums but you'll find that doing a simple search for "Neo" or R34 and you should get the results you're after.

The R34's (and newer Stageas) came with RB25DET Neo which is only a bit powerful off the factory floor. Some say that theyre strong or that R33 RB25DET's are easier to mod but as I said, the search should help you work it all out.

The NEO is stronger and more fruitful on mods.

Neo setup has a bigger core intercooler, slightly bigger turbo with ball-bearings... Probably other enhancements, but from what I know:

R33 = 185kw

R34 = 206kw (max allowed in Japan, but the motor probably puts out more)

both turbos are ball bearing I believe. R34 had a nylon compressor wheel for faster spool up..

Both turbos are ball bearing. R33 series 2 and R34 both have nylon comrpessor wheels.

R34 also has more torque.

R33 is easier to mod because more people have done them and because there are heaps of good quality second hand parts out there for them.

ah well... there you go! I thought the 33's weren't ball bearing, but i'm happy to know that I have a plastic compressor wheel!
