I dont know you might get 5 or 10 hp more maby and again it looks like a good safe tune

the next stage is ecu and igectors + pump so there is only so much hp out of some mods

go the shift kit and auto oil cooler and you might get a couple more hp

but with no 1/4 mile tests it is hard to say

Rev210 got into the 13s with not much more hp

Rev210's was an R33.. Different kettle of fish. :D

I believe Rev210 also had a few little aero mods, you know those little plastic bits that box off the stock intercooler? Rip those suckers out to stop it acting like a plastic bag in the wind.

was that with a auto Miller?

my car has injector and fuel pump if thats wat your saying, and being auto makes after market ecu a bit hard, i would say the rom tune owuld be just as good anyway which is what i ahve got

What do you mean cubes? wat plastic i am a bit lost.

Edited by AntonRx7

No manual but is it hp and lack of it you are worried about not wat gear box it has

Emanage with inginion harnes for computer and the plastic behind your intercooler wheel arch thing rhs behind cooler pull that off

mine is auto so this thread intreast me

james

ohok umm maybe its different for r32 our cooler are on the passenger side and the old intercoolre is all gone.

Yeah i figure most people don't both with autos but i brought my car cause its in such good condition and though i'd give it a go at modding

I had to rotate the turbo housing cause BHDAVE had a himount manfold or something. Could the seal be leaking since i have done this and cause any problems. I doubt it cause air fuel ratios were good hyperdrive said and seems to hold boost fairly well. Also had a small crack in cooler piping but i patched it up with silcon hosing and put like 4 hose clamps on it (bit of over kill) but i don't htink its leaking

took it for a drive just then it umm hard to expaain think its the limiter and it helps it change gear if you just take your foot of th accelerator a bit otherwise it take a bit longer to change gear

Also when i started car up it was a very very laggy/slugish for about 40second maybe it had a bit of water from when i cleaned the car though will see if it happens tomorow morning before walk

stupid cars

i dono they defently didn't use much fuel as i filled it up before tune and the needle was still on full when i picked the car up. Maybe ill go speak to them thursday when i have a day off see wat they think about it. They don't seem to think it is capable of more HP due to turbo and gearbox thats wat they said when i picked it up

Short of the box being absolutely rooted, i can't see how that would be the problem, maybe the torque converter is slipping excessively? Is it worth seeing a gearbox specialist to rule out gearbox issues?

And the gcg highflows are capable of 250rwkw on rb25's so i don't see why 200+ isn't possible on an rb20 (and that's being conservative). The turbo made 199 on my rb25 at 14psi before i swapped it, that was only a couple of months before you got it. That was with 10:1 mixtures and no tune.

Who is good in perth with skyline gearboxs

i need a shift kit aswell but that needs to come from sa

there are a lot of autos being modded you think some one might pick it up and run with it

pfc as well

and your gear boxs is rooted i think i have a mate with a bombed supra 3lt and that happened had to get gear box rebuilt but it goes faster now

james

If it learns has it gone to far past the gear change learning thing

ecu reset will that help i wonder

it is faster when it does not pop isint it?

james

Try resetting the ecu. I found that this helped when I had shit shifts.

how much did it cost u to get a rom tune, i had hyperdrive tune my r33 rb 25 and got 215rwhp, didnt tell me they could do the rom

does anyone know how to extract power from a auto without to much drama's , seems as if everyone that buys one has trouble with this

you can't get a rom on rb25's i don't think.

How would i know if the gearbox is slipping would a shiftkit help solves this a bit?

so you don't think there could be a leak on the turbo or anything Dave?

i wouldn't say so but just want to rule that out as i did have to twist it and i have got silcon patching up one of the intercooler pipes.

There is a torque convert place near Hyperdrive i may go past there today as well see what they recon

I think it's a long shot that rotating the housings has caused a problem, i've done it numerous times myself on that turbo, aswell as my new turbo with no problems.

I'm only speculating that it is the box, it could be alot of things. You could have a cam out a tooth or slipped cam gear, could be a tired engine. The problem is that i'm in sydney and you're in perth and i'm trying to dagnose why the same turbo on the same type of engine is behaving in a completely different way to what it did on mine.

No troubles at all i have in an r33 rb2.5 250rwhp @ 10 psi

Auto

mods

full exhaust

pod

fmic

ebc

you just need shift kit ( insteed of clutch manual eqiv)

my next stage

emanage with ignision harnes

fuel pump and reg and ingectors

cam gear maybe

good wheels and tyers with alot of side wall flex

good 4 a low 13 id hope

Standard ECU is restricting u a bit, and u should probly get sum bigger injectors. 232rwhp is heaps low thats like 150rwkw like a standard engine makes. u sure its not 232kw at the rear?

Stock rb20dets dont make anywhere near 150 its more like 100-115

    • Hi, wondering if the HKS bar and water reservoir still available? Thanks

    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
