I must admit that there do appear to be some non-ricey members of the rb's. Radium, ND4SPD and maybe XRW(j/k).

Anyone who is more interested in stereo's and flashing lights should wear a bright pink armband to show that they belong to the rb's.

See'ya:burnout:

if you've seen my other car (ie. FIL) it's not exactly rice :P

mind you... it's still waiting for me to finish a gearbox swap....

now.. lets get our affiliations out.... WASCC, AFARCC, RB's, All4Wheels, Supra club of WA... I'm almost as much of a car club **** as XRW :-)

FIL, on the allfours site i saw your going being towed away at motivation? god knows how you did a diff in the supra, i thought toyota made good diffs, or was yours on its way out?

plate idea for the supra.. [FILTTY] :P

Shaun

i was told that the supra diff was unbreakable...

that said, there's evidence of some heavy duty abuse on the sub frame (ie. rollbacks) and the way the diff let go is in keeping with that..

oh, and apparently the particular gears i broke, do break a bit...

my car suffers badly from axle tramp at the plex, which is probably the worst thing you can do to a diff... and something I plan to address, along with replacing the subframe and beefing up the diff, before i make a serious return to kwinana....

yeah, i have similar problems with axle tramp at the plex.. sounds like the whole car is going to smash to pieces.

on the street and anywhere else is fine... im going to stay away from that deathtrap until some hardcore mods come about and see how she goes then.

bah.. thread hijack.

Shaun

FIL,

Was that your Supra at Motorvation with the diff dropped out. Me and my mate wondered how you had managed to do that, we thought that they were indestructable too.

Didn't mean to imply you were a rice-boy, just warning others of your rb affiliation, in case they didn't know:lol:

See'ya:burnout:

hehe..... fair enuff :-)

yeah, that was mine... i've taken it to the plex 3 times, including motorvation... done about 20 full noise passes, axle tramped almost every time, no matter how gently i launch... (u practically have to idle off the line to get traction)... at motorvation, did some small burnouts to try to get traction, and on the second launch of the motorkhana... big bang, and had to get towed back to the pits...

thankfully, we got the diff out that night, confirmed that was the problem, and got a new one the next day... was able to drive home that evening...

FIL,

I've done 60+ passes at the plex, and now my twin-plate is farked, you can't have fun in a car without breaking something.

I saw the rubber on the guards and assumed that burnouts had been involved.

See'ya:burnout:

yeah.... thats the way i looked at it too....

burnouts had been rather small, nothing much more than on over enthusiatic launch basically...enuff to dry the tyres...

i think part of the problem is that i know i could launch better if i slipped the clutch, but i refuse to do that because of the wear issues with metal on metal....

I only ever find out about these things after the event!!!

I was pulled over last nite for my blue headlights. Got off with a warning, but the officer told me if he wasn't about to go off duty, he would lift the bonnet and find several reasons to give me a sticker.  Must of had a really bad shift. As we were driving off, my son switched on the under car neons. What a lad!

Your a rice Mum! :uh-huh:

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
