Purchased a pair of R34 eyelids from MFX about a month and a half ago; finally got them painted and fitted today :D Decided to go DIY as the initial cost of the item didn't warrant a professional spray job. Besides, the item is so damn small it's going to be near impossible to funk it up~

Ingredients:

2 x MFX R34 Eyelids

1 x Can of Automotive Spray Paint (Nismo White)

1 x Can of Laquer

1 x Brick (to hold eyelids up above ground)

1 x Old Newspaper (to keep my driveway spotless)

Process took 2 days as I only began work Saturday evening. Applied 2 initial coats of white and left to dry overnight. Came back from a small meet-up today and finished it off by applying a final coat of paint followed by 2 coats of laquer.

Voila....

Eyelids fitted using double sided adhesive tape; had to be cut to size. Because these eyelids "flex" to a certain degree, fitment was clean and easy as you could bend them to the shape of the headlight :)

Still not sure whether I'll keep em on for good... a little undecided atm! Maybe they'll grow on me so they'll stay on for a month or two :) Good thing is that the adhesive is only on the plastic housing of the headlight which means removal is a piece of cake!

I think you are 100% correct.... the East Bear ones look much more aggressive! But could that be because of the front bar it is partnered with? Could be a "package" feel rather than the single piece feel...

Anyways, thanks for the feedback guys :)

IMO, look's more aggressive yes.. but still needs more covering the light on the other hand - if you got the r34 GTR style grill it looks a whole lot better! I recon even without the lids.. just looks badass

ignuz; I agree that the GTR grille would look awesome no doubt, but the amount of work + money to get that look is not justified in my books. There are just too many parts that need to be replace in order to achieve that look - and only so that the eyelids look more agressive, proves my point even more :D

oh :D Pictures don't mean anything anyway... always looks different in person :D

oh and also.. i can't tell if you've already done it or if it even can be done.. but if you take the lids off and just tint the glass a bit.. make it darker i think that would look alot more aggressive even without the lids.. that white on black look :D

stan... those eye lids are alrite... the "Angry" C-West ones are ghey... I got a set and had em on the car for 3 days and couldnt hack it. Stock is the best... R34 headlights give the R34 that uniqe beefy look so why cover them up??

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
