I doubt the Saleen would have the handling or braking package that the Bugatti has. Could the Saleen box handle the grunt? The tyres? Bugatti has looked at these issues and had the dollars to support the R&D. Naturally time (and customers) will tell if they got it right. I think the Bugatti would have more visual impact driving around than the Saleen whose shape has been around for years.

I'd choose the Bugatti.

It's easy to beat 400 in a straight line (well relatively ;-)

Put them both on the Nurburgring and see who wins over say 10 laps.

My money is on the Bugatti

True, Americans only know how to make their cars go fast in a straight line still.

Yes, the bugatti is not just a 1000hp 4wd silly car

It really is a true push the limit of technology and physics pure racecar

Its basically a formula one equivelant road car with a warranty and reliablity way past 2 races :)

Yeah you could build a 1000hp GTR for 1/10th the price. But it would never be the same as the rediculously engineered veyron

It has set a benchmark that no company can reach, not without a billion dollars and the equivelant 7 or whatever years of development

And by then, they will have updated the veyron even more

You're right.

Because Volkswagen wanted to commemorate their rich F1 history, by building a car that weighs over 2 tons (which says "F1 technology" to me).

It will be a true, BEAST.......... .... ... when it gets released!

haha

Have a look at this page

http://www.bugattipage.com/ride.htm

On another note, how often do you think you will be cruising at 400km/h in Australia. This car is way too much for Australia, specially on our crappy roads. Give me this in germany, AUTOBAHN BABY!

From that webpage

EPA city driving: 7 mpg = 40L/100

EPA highway driving: 10 mpg = 28L/100

Steady 253 mph: 3 mpg = 95L/100

Now stop whining about your bad "13L/100" fuel economy! hahahaha

You're right.

note the word basically mate :P

and considering its faster than ferrari's 2005 spec F1 car AND weighs more than 1400kg more than it ...

Faster in a straight line only.

U will have to take the thing to a place like NT to get close to even 400 licks here in aus.

I think linsay fox has ordered one for his car museum here in vic so we might get to see one in person.

If they are only making em left hand drive like the carrera gt and enzo then we won’t see them on the road here in aus anyway.

i don't know how much of you know they Saleen, for those who watch top gear and some discovery channel show which reviewed all the current supercars, you would know that the saleen S7, not this new one, but the current one, can hold its own weight in down force. It can literally drive up-side-down apparently. It doesn't need 4wd because it has also been well designed.

People who read Jeremy Clarkson's review of the veyron would know that its top speed cuts down to about 340 or 360 (can't remember exactly) when the wing is up, otherwise it would be wayy too dangerous.

I'd take the saleen.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
