hey guys i just bought a std r32 gtst (only pod n 3 inch exhaust) n a mechanic said its been boosted well above 7psi n i dont have a boost controler to turn it down, even on low trottle the boost runs very quick to show reading over past the factory boost guage of 7psi, if im runnin this high boost for long,

a) what damage could it be doin to my engine n turbo since i dont have a front mount or any other mods for sufficient airflow cooling for the boost level (prob 10/11 psi)? if so what would be a safe boost level without puttin a strain on the engine without the frontmount?

B) what would be the cheapest n best way to fix the problem? (maybe turn the boost back down with a manual boost controller)

c) would a bleed valve help?

d) i also get 300km on a 42l tank with only some racing, is this decent?

thanks guys for any help you can give me.

If its showing 7 on the factory guage, it means its running over 14psi as the factory guage uses different units to psi.

The only way it can run more then standard boost is if the wastegate actuator has been changed, its stuck partially closed, or it has a bleed hole or split in the hose between wastegate actuator and the turbo compressor cover.

Check that first.

11-13psi is FACTORY

No its not

Factory is about 7psi, with a full 3inch exhaust and pod it will creep to 10-13 though, I know mine did.

Theres no way to turn it back down without getting a different spring. A boost controller will only allow you to set it higher then what you currently have. Id just take it easy on the hot days and get a FMIC so it doesnt cook the air. If its really going up to 14psi Id get the spring/actuator checked as somethings wrong there and it'll kill the turbo pretty quick smart and really cook the air.

does it still run good?

if so get a turbo timer and enjoy it i say.

With the standard turbo and intercooler anymore then 12psi will just cook the air making the engine more likely to ping (bad) and not give any power increase, I wouldnt recommend leaving it like that with summer coming up.
