  1. Of course it matters, it just shouldn't be everything. Imagine if the 200,000 km car that had been really looked after (serviced every 6 months, wheel alignment etc) had only done 3,000 kms each year instead of 30,000 kms. I know which I'd prefer. Servicing and looking after something properly make a huge difference but things wear out over time and with use. Now, back to my 19 year old car with 37,000 kms.
  2. "That Supra was a one off. We stand by every car we sell. We can supply you with the documentation from japan that is just as strictly "corrected" as our speedos. Just let us know if you'd like a particular car with a certain number of kms and we'll organise it for you."
  3. Couldn't be happier to see this occurring. I really hope they implement all of the suggestions.
  4. Might be a bit obvious but check the engine number against the plate. Dents could have been from having the engine out. Inspections do help. I was looking at a Golf at a VW dealer years back and didn't realise it had accident damage till they picked up on it.
  5. Name change to nightmare car city perhaps? I am so over the constant clipping of kms. It has a negative impact on everyone involved, from dealers to buyers. If I was buying again I think I would only go with a car that has had one trusted australian owner with history and NOT bought from dodgy dealer or import again myself.
  6. Wow I've been referred to as a tarted up import and a lemon, all in the one topic. Last time I bring in an immaculate GTR with 256,000kms and sell it with 33,000. Kidding!
  7. I reckon TBC (to be confirmed) would do the trick. Ultimately it will depend upon what they decide.
  8. No rush, it's just sitting in the car at the moment. When the right buyer comes along with the cash, happy days.
  9. Hi All, After collecting a few I've decided to sell my R33 Nismo GTR lighter. As I have an R32 I've decided to let this one go. It is in excellent condition and does not appear to have been used. These are extremely hard to find and don't come up for sale very often. Nice little collectors item to go with your vehicle. I'm after $150 and are happy to post it within Australia at that price. I won't accepting offers as I am only trying to get back what I paid for it. Genuine buyers only please drop me a PM. Item will be sent once payment is received. Thanks!
  10. I went from a modded 05 sti, to a stock 99 2dr sti to a R32 v spec II. 05 had plenty of grunt (once modified) but felt heavy for what it was. 2 door was nice and super responsive. Definitely quicker than a gtr down low. Personally I prefer the gtr due to its presence (just look at those guards) and better steering. I also love the smoothness of the 6 after only having 4s. I reckon a 22B vs some type of limited edition R34 would be an interesting comparison.
  11. If you can handle the wait, use a trusted broker to import one from japan or get one from a known source. Too many bad stories about dealers on Parramata Rd (and other places). If a deal is too good to be true then it probably is. Nice clean low km cars pull good money in japan.
  12. But but but They said they now guaranteed all the cars they sell (nothing on consignment) and the previous issues have been addressed. Oh man, I can't believe a dealer on Parramatta Rd would not be 100% genuine and trust worthy. What is this world coming to?!?!
  13. Just had a quick look for the previous topic but could find it. Anyone able to locate it/link it? It was a cracking read that showed the car had been repaired and wound back approx 100K kms.
  14. Slightly off topic, nice search tool. Good to see my car is meant to have 17 inch rims and was originally grey. Interesting info above though. Either all of the cars listed have had a colour change or they're listing incorrect vins. Either way it doesn't look good.
  15. Wow that's cheap for an R34 with less than 40,000kms on it. What a bargain!
  16. You can probably lie next to him for the right amount of $$$$$$$
  17. ^^^^^^ With this being the case, is it the usual to see a significant increase between the last 2 inspections then not much since even though it might have been 1-2 years?
  18. Look, im all for religious servicing, but after 142kms?!?! You just know that thing has been treasured. Precious......
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong but the GTR checked above is not the one originally questioned.
  20. Im in! Would absolutely love to see it.
  21. http://www.best-r.com/create/gallery.php?&id=257 Just not sure if I am 100% happy with the service records.....
  22. No, quite a few are original. I'm pretty sure Bob's is 100% stock. It is certainly a strong selling point though and will assist with its value as there are numerous cars out there with various degrees of modification.
  23. Have a chat to some of the reputable brokers to see what is out there and an idea of price. I got a feeling you might need to pay more for a really nice car. I simply couldn't have gotten the car I got in Australia. Price wise it was more than cars in Australia but I believe it was better value as the car is near on perfect. Good Luck
  24. ^^^^^ agree 100% It is all well and good to have a go at someone for not doing their research but a lot of people take things on face value and believe they a safer going through a dealer. It a real shame that issues with odometers will make it harder and harder to locate genuine vehicles in the future and potentially reduce the value of imported cars.
  25. I can't get past the fact that the kilometres on the grey GTR were originally reported as one figure on the website and then following this post changed to 134K.
